The top teams in women’s hockey
The United States is currently ranked first in the world, followed by Canada, Finland, and Russia.
Finland has never won the Women’s World Hockey Championship but they did win Olympic Bronze in 2014. Russia has also never won the World Championship but they are the defending Olympic Champions, having won Gold in 2018.
The bottom teams in women’s hockey
There are a few teams at the bottom of the standings in women’s hockey this year. As of right now, the Ottawa Senators are in last place with a record of 0-6-1. The Los Angeles Kings are not far behind with a record of 0-7-0. The Arizona Coyotes also have a losing record, sitting at 2-5-0.

The most improved team in women’s hockey this season has been the Minnesota Golden Gophers They have gone from a sub-.500 team last season to one of the best teams in the country this season. They are currently ranked No. 2 in the country and have a chance to win the National Championship
The biggest surprise team in women’s hockey
The biggest surprise team in college women’s hockey this season is undoubtedly Clarkson University With a record of 12-1-0 in conference play and 21-4-0 overall, the Golden Knights have put together an impressive season and sit atop the NCAA Women’s Hockey Standings
Clarkson’s success is all the more impressive when you consider that the team lost several Key Players from last year’s squad, including leading scorer Cayley Mercer. But the Golden Knights have been led by a balanced scoring attack and solid goaltending from junior goaltender Shea Tiley, who has posted a .936 save percentage
With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season Clarkson looks like a strong contender for the NCAA Women’s Hockey title. But they’ll need to keep winning to ensure that they earn a top seed in the upcoming tournament.

The biggest disappointment team in women’s hockey this season has been the Canada women’s national Hockey Team After winning the gold medal at the Winter Olympics in 2018, the team has struggled to find success this season. They currently have a record of 3-5-0 and are sitting in last place in the standings.

In today’s game, the best player in women’s hockey is undisputedly Hilary Knight of the United States knight has been at the top of her game for over a decade now, and her individual awards and accomplishments speak for themselves. She is a three-time Olympian, winning silver in 2010 and 2014 before helping the United States win gold in 2018. She is also a seven-time world champion, winning gold in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. In addition to her individual honors, knight has also been a part of three teams that have won the Clarkson Cup which is awarded to the top team in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL).

They are often overwhelmed by the speed of the game and make a lot of mistakes. As a result, they tend to be a liability on the ice and their team often loses when they are on the ice.
