Rafael Nadal of Spain won the men’s singles final at Wimbledon today, defeating Roger Federer of Switzerland in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. Nadal is now the two-time Wimbledon champion and has won a total of 19 Grand Slam titles.
Rafael Nadal was born in Mallorca, Spain, on June 3, 1986. His father, Sebastián Nadal, is a business man who owns an insurance company and a glass and window company. His mother is Ana María Parera. Nadal has a younger sister named María Isabel. He also has two paternal uncles who were professional tennis players: Toni Nadal (his father’s brother) and Miguel Ángel Nadal (nicknamed “Uncle Toni”). Very early in his life, he showed signs of intense focus on tennis with a single-minded dedication to becoming the best that he could be at the game

Djokovic easily dispatched of his opponent in the final, winning in straight sets. This is Djokovic’s third Wimbledon title, and he becomes the first man in the Open Era to win the Wimbledon singles title after losing the first set of the final.
Novak Djokovic (Serbian: Новак Ђоковић, pronounced [nǒʋaːk dʑôːkoʋitɕ] (listen); born 22 May 1987) is a Serbian professional tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
Djokovic has won numerous awards, including the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2011 and 2015, being one of only three tennis players (along with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal) to do so. He has also won ATP Player of the Year a record seven times (in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2020), ATP Tour Finals three times (in 2014, 2015 and 2020), Wimbledon twice (in 2011 and 2020), as well as being on the Serb team which won Davis Cup in 2010. In majors, Djokovic has won 16 Grand Slam singles titles; he is one of eight men to have done so.
In the end, Novak Djokovic couldn’t quite repeat his Wimbledon triumph. The world No. 1 put up a good fight against Roger Federer in the final, but it wasn’t enough as Federer won in straight sets, 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
It was a disappointing result for Djokovic, who had come into the match as the heavy favorite. But ultimately, Federer was just too good on the day, and Djokovic will have to settle for a runner-up finish.
