The team has won numerous conference championships and has made several appearances in the NCAA tournament In recent years the team has made national headlines for its success on the field, its community involvement and its commitment to academic excellence.

The Seton Hill University Field Hockey Team has a long-standing rivalry with Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). The two teams have been playing each other since the 1970s and the matchup is always eagerly anticipated by both schools’ fans.
Seton Hill is a small, private university located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, about an hour east of Pittsburgh. IUP is a large public university located in Indiana, Pennsylvania, about an hour east of Pittsburgh. Both schools are members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The Seton Hill Griffins have won the PSAC championship four times (1981, 1982, 1983, 1984) while the IUP Crimson Hawks have won it six times (1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980). In recent years Seton Hill has had the upper hand in the rivalry, winning eight of the last ten meetings between the two teams.
