Cornell Mens Hockey is the top team in the nation. The team has a rich history of success, dating back to its first season in 1975. Cornell has won 12 National Championships more than any other school, and has produced numerous Olympians and professional players. The team is currently coached by Andrew Verner, who has led the team to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.
The Team’s History
Cornell women’s Hockey Team is composed of student athletes who attend Cornell University The team has been in existence since 1973 and has been a part of the NCAA Division I tournament since 2003. In 2012, the team became the first ever Ivy League team to win an NCAA championship The team is currently coached by Doug Derraugh and captained by senior defender Alyssa Gagliardi.
The Team’s Accomplishments
The Cornell women’s Hockey team is the top team in the nation. They have won the Ivy League championship four times, and have made it to the NCAA Tournament six times. The team is led by Head Coach Doug Derraugh, who has coached the team to a record of 230-73-17.
The Team’s Roster
The Cornell women’s hockey team is comprised of 27 student-athletes from across the United States and Canada. The team is led by head coach Doug Derraugh, who is in his 12th season at the helm of the program.
The roster includes three seniors, 11 juniors, eight sophomores, and five freshmen. Cornell has had at least one player named to the All-Ivy League team in each of the past 12 seasons, and has placed at least one player on the All-Ecac Hockey team in each of the last 11 seasons.
The Team’s Schedule
The Cornell women’s hockey team has released its schedule for the upcoming season The team is coming off a successful campaign in which they won the National Championship They will look to defend their title this season against some of the best teams in the country.
The team will start their season with a non-conference game against Boston College on October 6th. They will then have a chance to defend their home ice against conference foes Clarkson and St. Lawrence. The team will wrap up its non-Conference Schedule with a game against Harvard on November 17th.
Cornell will open its conference schedule at home against Dartmouth on November 30th. The team will then hit the road for a tough stretch, playing at Princeton, Penn State and Yale. The team will return home for games against Brown and Columbia before heading back out on the road to close out the regular season at Cornell’s biggest rival, Harvard.
The Team’s Fans
Cornell women’s hockey is often considered to have the best fans in the nation. The team’s fan base is very dedicated, and they are always there to support their team. Cornell women’s hockey has a very strong and loyal following, and they are always willing to help out with any team event or activity.
The Team’s Rivals
Cornell Mens Hockey has 3 notable rivals. First, there are the Princeton Tigers The Tigers and the Cornell women have been facing off against each other since 1978, with Cornell winning 37 games and Princeton winning 27. Second, there is Dartmouth. The two teams have met 81 times, with Cornell winning 53 games and Dartmouth winning 28. Lastly, there is Harvard. These two teams have met 103 times, with Cornell winning 65 games and Harvard winning 36.
The Team’s Home Arena
The women of Cornell University’s Hockey Team have been dominates the sport for years, with twelve NCAA championship titles. The team is led by Head Coach Doug Derraugh, who has been at the helm since 2006. The team’s home arena is Bright Hockey Center which opened in 1971.
The Team’s Coaches
The Cornell women’s Hockey Team is coached by Melanie chow and Katey Stone. Chow is in her fourth season as Head coach and stone is in her first season as an Assistant Coach Both Chow and Stone have extensive experience coaching at the collegiate level, and have led the team to great success in recent years
The Team’s Future
It is hard to imagine the Cornell women’s Hockey Team being any better than it is right now. The team is coming off of a historic season in which they won the NCAA National Championship and they seem to be getting better every year. While it is impossible to predict the future, it seems likely that the Cornell women’s Hockey team will continue to be one of the best teams in the nation for years to come.
