WWE Monday Night Raw Live From Jacksonville, Florida

Monday, August 6th, 2018

Commentators:  Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman, and Corey Graves

In-Ring Promo:  Kurt Angle

Kurt welcomes us to Monday Night Raw.  Tonight will be a historic night, because Ronda Rousey will compete in the ring for the very first time on Raw.  And unlike some other former UFC Champions, Ronda has no issue competing on Raw.  She never complains, or whines about showing up.  And whether she wins or loses tonight, or at Summerslam, she is a champion, just like any other competitor.  Unlike Brock Lesnar, who never defends his title.  He attacks Kurt, he goes right after officials, and officially, Paul Heyman still has his job, since Brock showed up.  He will be interviewed by Renee Young later tonight.

Roman reigns enters the ring.

Kurt, you know I have a ton of respect for as Raw General Manager, but you should have known better.  If you kick the big dog out, who will protect this yard?  Nobody, and that is why Brock rag-tagged everyone.  Baron smiles, and Reigns asks what is he smiling about?  He did nothing when Kurt was getting beat down.  Kurt stops him, and says everyone is upset, from the top down.  Roman cuts him off, and asks please do not say Brock will get suspended.  Kurt tells him the match will go on at Summerslam.  And reigns will get his opportunity, he just hopes Roman will kick Brock’s ass.  Corbin cuts him off, and says he needs to act more professional.  He tries and tell Roman he didn’t do anything last week because he worked a match earlier, and was preserving some energy.  He beat Finn Balor, the guy that actually won the Universal Championship.  Kurt agrees and says he could have had his back.  Corbin tells Kurt he is nothing, Stephanie McMahon is the Commissioner of Raw, Kurt just makes the matches, and Corbin makes sure Kurt doesn’t try to play favorites.  Kurt agrees, he can make matches, so he will make one right here.

Match Number 1:  Roman reigns Vs Constable Baron Corbin

This match should have been much shorter, but as it was, a 15 minute match that ends when Corbin leaves ringside, setting up a Countout loss, but Finn Balor shows up.  Superman Punch, and a spear, Roman wins the match, and leaves some for Finn.

Winner:  Roman Reigns, by pinfall

Balor gives Corbin a dropkick, then a Coup De Grace.  Balor wants some more of Corbin.

Tonight:  Ronda Rousey Vs Alicia Fox

Next:  Bobby Roode Vs Mojo Rawley

Last Monday:  Rollins Vs McIntyre

Backstage Segment:  Seth and Kurt

Seth’s focus is on his IC Title match at Summerslam, but every time he gets close to doing that, McIntyre swoops in, and every time he gets close to get to McIntyre, Ziggler swoops in.  So how can they solve this tonight?  Kurt tells Seth to find a tag team partner tonight, and face Ziggler and McIntyre.  Problem solved.

Match Number 2:  Bobby Roode Vs Mojo Rawley

This was Mojo Rawley’s biggest match, and it wasn’t good enough.  A GLORIOUS victory with a GLORIOUS DDT.

Winner:  Bobby Roode, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Elias

A stagehand tells Elias they still have some shots to do, and Elias tells him everything will be perfect.

Next:  Elias

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Hello, I am Elias.  And I have one question for everybody here tonight.  WHO WANTS TO WALK WITH ELIAS?  Ladies and gentlemen, the album is out and he is changing lives on a daily basis, and if you don’t have it, you are one of the very few.  He is beating out more artists with just 4 songs, and he is doing it all on his own.  Can I get an amen?  If you don’t know about the documentary, it is on the WWE Network, which stands for Walk With Elias Network.  They did the documentary, but they are about to do it by perfection, so here we go.

He tells the camera crew to make some quick changes.  But he understands what the issue is, it’s the audience.  Just crop the faces off, or better yet just highlight the attractive ones, and just do anything to black out that he is in Jacksonville.  The crowd is booing that.  A camera guy tries to move, but Elias tells him to get back over there.  That idiot Bobby Lashley last week ruined everything.  That is not happening again.

Here comes Lashley.

Once again, Lashley’s name comes out of Elias’ mouth, and once again he appears.  Bobby enjoyed Elias’ documentary, he doesn’t know why he is complaining.  Elias said it had its good moments, but it made him look vain, and egotistical.  As opposed to as what?  Elias tells Bobby he isn’t here to steal Elias’ spotlight, because the truth is Bobby’s entire comeback has been a complete joke.  Bobby thinks everything is a joke, everything about Elias is a complete joke.  And the next time Elias speaks of Lashley, what he will do to him, it won’t be a complete joke.  Elias gives Lashley a cheap shot.  But Lashley nails a Spinebuster.  Bobby tells the crew to catch this, Bobby nails a Suplex, for good measure.

Tonight:  Paul Heyman Exclusive Interview

Tonight:  Seth Rollins and ??? Vs Ziggler and McIntyre

Tonight:  Rousey Vs Fox

Backstage Segment:  Seth Rollins and Tyler Breeze

Breeze wants to be Rollins’ tag partner tonight, even does The Shield fist.  Reigns shows up, tells Seth he has his back.  Nice for Tyler to offer though.

Match Number 3:  Rezar Vs Titus O’ Neil

Jacksonville’s own Titus O’ Neil took his eyes off the prize for a moment, that allows a Spinebuster by Rezar, and he wins.

Winner:  Rezar, by pinfall

Next:  The Kevin Owens Show

In-Ring Promo:  The Kevin Owens Show

Welcome to The Kevin Owens Show.  Now everyone, help me welcome my guest to a man who has handled all of his stress, dealing with Braun Strowman the last few months.  His very own guru, Jinder Mahal.

Jinder, he can’t thank you enough.  At first, Kevin was skeptical of his methods, but he has never felt better.  Kevin is peaceful and relaxed, and that is thanks to you.  After Braun threw him over a cage, he thought he would feel pain.  But now it’s because of Jinder, he didn’t feel; pain today.  He was able to play with his little daughter.  But they have another thing in common, when most people see Braun, they see a monster.  Someone that he can’t be beat, but Kevin beat Braun Strowman, and so did Jinder.  He beat him in a grueling cage match, and Jinder beat him in a count out match.  And a count out loss will do the trick at Summerslam.  When he beats Strowman at Summerslam, that means Owens will be Money in the Bank, KO In The Bank.  That means he will get  a guaranteed shot at Universal Champion, and Kevin can finally get the title he has never got back.  Kevin has never been the same since he lost the title, and now he can reclaim his life.  He has an idea, how about we get Braun Vs Jinder again.  It’s okay Jinder, he won’t show up.  He doesn’t want Jinder.

The stage slowly is tipped over, and it’s Braun Strowman.  He accepts the match, next.

Moments Ago:  Braun Strowman

Match Number 4:  Braun Strowman Vs Jinder Mahal

Owens keeps trying to take away the briefcase.  But after the second time of trying it, he gets the briefcase back, after knocking out Owens.  Jinder tries to attack Braun, but Strowman nails him with the briefcase, and is DQ’d.  For the second straight week, Jinder wins!!

Winner:  Jinder Mahal, by DQ

Tonight:  Rollins and Reigns Vs Ziggler and McIntyre

Backstage Segment:  Kurt and Corbin

Corbin is on the phone with Stephanie, hands it over to Kurt.  She orders something, but what is it?

Next:  Summerslam Preview

Video:  Lesnar Vs Reigns

This was an interview with Reigns, where he talks about the history between he and Lesnar.  Reigns vows he will show up every night, and defend that Universal Championship every single night, as he sees fit.  He will keep getting up, and fight Lesnar, because he has to.

Backstage Segment:  Kurt, Corbin, Roman, and Rollins

Corbin and Angle stops Rollins and Reigns.  Corbin informs Roman that they are protecting the main event of Summerslam, so Stephanie ordered Roman won’t team up with Rollins.  Roman doesn’t care about what Stephanie said, but Corbin tells Roman if he goes out there and team up with Rollins, then he is out of the title match at Summerslam.  Rollins will face Ziggler and Drew in a Handicap match.  Roman punches Corbin in the ribs, again.

Match Number 5:  Dolph Ziggler (IC Champ) and Drew McIntyre Vs Seth Rollins in a Handicap Match

Seth did everything he could, but the numbers game took over.  Ziggler nails the Superkick, despite McIntyre being the legal man.  Ziggler pins Rollins for the win.

Winners:  Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, by pinfall

Tonight:  Paul Heyman Exclusive Interview

Tonight:  Rousey Vs Fox

Match Number 6:  The B-Team (Raw Tag Champs) Vs The Revival in a non-title match

Now this was an interesting twist.  The Revival through a selfie promo was talking about the Tag Team division has become magicians.  So the end of the match, we have the lights go out, come back on.  Matt Hardy is in one corner, Bray is in the other, and they beat down The Revival and B-Team to send a message.

Winners:  No Contest

Next:  Paul Heyman Interview

Exclusive Interview:  Paul Heyman

Renee tries to talk to Heyman about last week, and asking if he consider Brock to be one of his friends.  He does, and he considers his children to be friends with his children.  This is not what they talked about, riding off into the sunset, with The Universal Championship on one shoulder, and UFC Championship on the other shoulder.  Renee asks him if he thinks Brock needs Heyman?  He can’t answer that question, so Renee asks him if he sees someone else he can manage in WWE?  That would never be possible a week ago.  Renee asks who wins the match, Reigns Vs Lesnar.  He has known Brock for 16 years.  He has never seen Brock so violent, Roman doesn’t stand a chance.

Earlier Tonight:  Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens

More brute strength.

Summerslam:  Braun Vs Owens, if Owens win in any way, he will win Money in the Bank Briefcase

Match Number 7:  The Riott Squad Vs The Boss and Hug Connection

A woman in black clothing helps out Liv, and decks Bayley.  It’s the returning Ruby Riott, and Sarah Logan rolls up Sasha for the win.  Okay, moving along.

Winners:  The Riott Squad, by pinfall

Video:  Ronda Rousey Vs Alexa Bliss

Next:  Rousey Vs Fox

Next Week:  Raw Triple Threat Championship Match:  The B-Team Vs The Deleter of Worlds Vs The Revival

Match Number 8:  “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey Vs Alicia Fox

Charly Caruso made her only appearance before the match started, she asked about preparing for Ronda Rousey.  This irate Alexa, saying she is just a “rookie” while Alicia is a pioneer in the business, setting the pave for the women in this business.  Alicia is a legend, and needs to be treated as such.  Besides, as Alicia said, she was the “Captain” of Raw.  (Back at Survivor Series in Team Raw Vs Team SD Live).  Ronda comes out, and we have our match.  This was more of a back and forth match than I thought.  Alexa took out Natalya, but Ronda uses her brute strength.  Nails Alicia with a Suplex, then shows Alexa how to apply The Armbar, which Alicia has no other choice but to tap.  After the match, Charly tries to interview Ronda, Alexa tries to attack Ronda.  But Ronda gives her a backflip, and Alexa escapes.  Ronda ends the show with Rousey telling Alexa that title is coming to her at Summerslam.

Winner:  “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, by submission

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This was the best show setting up Summerslam, and much, much better than last week’s show.  If Roman never beats Lesnar, he will never be that BIG star they want him to be.  So he has to win at Summerslam, but how?  I am also guessing we will finally have The Boss and Hug Connection FINALLY explode at Evolution, the all-woman PPV in October.  So my hunch is they will do a 6-woman tag match at Summerslam of B & H Connection and Ember Moon Vs The Riott Squad.

Ronda looked ready for Summerslam too, looking forward to seeing that match.  We are all set for next week in Greensboro.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Let me hear it, and how do we make Lesnar Vs Reigns exciting?  Sound off.
