If you missed last week’s Smackdown Live, click here WWE Smackdown Live Results 7/24/18 (AJ Style’s Summerslam Opponent Is Revealed)

In Memoria:  Nikolai Volkoff, Brian Christopher, and Brickhouse Brown (WWE didn’t show him, but he was a legend)

Backstage:  Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman

In-Ring Promo:  Roman Reigns

Everytime he comes down here, the energy is always so loud, so he must give Miami a shoutout.  He has to give Bob a shoutout too, because had said so many things about Bob.  But they went to war, and he a tremendous amount of respect for Bobby Lashley.  Which leads to his Summerslam opponent, he has zero amount of respect for Brock Lesnar.  The guy never shows up, he never comes to work, but oddly he has plenty of time to go to UFC.  He has plenty of time to jump on the Octagon, and shove Daniel Cormier.  Reigns guarantees Brock won’t come into his yard, he won’t come up into his face.

Ladies and gentlemen…..and you too Roman Reigns.  My name is Paul Heyman, and I am the advocate to the reigning, defending, undisputed Universal Champion….BROCK LESNAR!!  Allow me Mr. Reigns on behalf of my client congratulating you on a victory last week against Bobby Lashley, ensuring you a spot against Brock at Summerslam.  But from his perspective, the definition of insanity is to do it over, and over, and over, and over again, expecting a different result, but the same thing happens.  You deserve to be in a padded cell, because you try over, and over, and over, and over and never get the job done.  You can make his words, Roman Reigns, this is not a prediction, this is a spoiler alert.  Brock Lesnar will put down “The Big Dawg”, and move on to UFC to become a 2-sport champion.

Just shut up Paul, we don’t care about anything you have to say.  We want to see Brock Lesnar, so bring him out here.

Ladies and gentlemen, my client Brock Lesnar is here at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, and he is sitting in his luxurious locker room, and he will come out here when he feels like it, and if, only if he feels like coming out.  But Roman, don’t worry, because at Summerslam, Brock Lesnar will do….

Do what?  What exactly will he do Paul, actually show up at Summerslam.  If he shows up, he will send him back to the UFC, but not as “The Beast”, he will show up as Roman Reigns bitch,

Great start to the show.

Backstage Segment:  Seth Rollins

Seth is trying to chill before his match tonight.

Tonioght:  Seth Rollins Vs Drew McIntyre

Tonight:  Alicia Fox Vs Natalya, with Ronda Rousey in her corner

Backstage Segment:  Brock Lesnar

Heyman shows up in Brock’s dressing room wanting Brock to listen to what Reigns said.  Brock could care less, he’s not even watching the show.  He throws Paul’s phone into the wall.

Match Number 1:  Finn Balor Vs Constable Corbin

This was a good match, Finn gave Corbin everything he had.  The ending came with a missed Coup De Grace, and into End of Days, Corbin avenges the loss.  After the match, Corbin tries to get back into the ring, and Finn fights back.  But power took over, and he went right after Balor’s head on the barricade.

Winner:  Constable Baron Corbin, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Heyman and Angle

Paul sends a goon to get him another phone.  Kurt comes over, asking if it’;s true Lesnar won’t show up at ringside.  Heyman says he fulfilled his obligation just by showing up at the arena.  if he wants more, go talk to Brock.  Kurt makes it clear, Heyman works for WWE, so if Brock doesn’t show up later tonight, he will be fired.

Last Week:  Stephanie McMahon’s Monumental “Evolution” Announcement

Backstage Segment:  Alicia Fox and Alexa Bliss

Alexa’s best friend Mickie James is hurt, so Alicia was hand-picked to face Natalya.  Ronda Rousey is in her corner, but The Champ will take care of her.  This is Alicia’s moment to capitalize on all of the Women’s PPV hype.  You with me?

Match Number 2:  Natalya (W/ Ronda Rousey) Vs Alicia Fox (W/ Alexa Bliss)

With some help from Bliss, decking Natalya, Fox picks up the win with a kick.  Ronda now comes in, and tears Alexa up, but Alicia helps her out, only to be left with a TKO.  She chases down Bliss, only to be met by another kick by Fox.

Winner:  Alicia Fox, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Brock and Heyman

Heyman suggests Brock goes out to the ring tonight, talk about his conquest of his UFC.  The fans would eat everything up he says.  Brock isn’t about that, he wants to be at home, at his house.  Now go make him a steak.

Tonight:  Seth Rollins Vs Drew McIntyre

Tonight:  Sasha Banks and Bayley Vs The Riott Squad

Tonight:  Braun Strowman Vs Jinder Mahal

Backstage Segment:  Rousey and Angle

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Hello, I am Elias.  and I have one question for everybody here tonight….who wants to walk with Elias?  Ladies and gentlemen, I have done, dropped the greatest record of all-time.  He beat out so many legends, including Taylor Swift, can I get an amen?  Amen

The title of the record says it all….WWE stands for Walk with Elias.  He would have beaten Drake, but Bobby Lashley stopped that momentum.  He was going to embarrass himself anyway and lose the title match.  And Miami supports garbage like Pitbull and The Rock.  The Rock can’t handle a legend like him, and this is his song.

Before he can really play, Bobby Lashley comes out.  Lashley is a big fan, and he thought he’d listen word for word.  Elias knows what he’s doing here for, he wants to sing with Elias.  The crowd loves it, Lashley is not in support of it.  For one night only, Bobby Lashley will sing with Elias.  Now he is going to keep this slow and simple, just like Bobby.

They sing Rocking Robin, and he it did not end well.  Elias attacked Lashley for forgetting the song, but Lashley took Elias out of the ring.

Backstage Segment:  Kevin Owens and Corbin

Owens butters up to Corbin, but he is concerned with Brock Lesnar.  If Brock comes out, he doesn’t want Strowman to cash in on the title.  Corbin doesn;t care about the situation, and walks away.

Last Week:  Strowman and Mahal

Next:  Braun Strowman Vs Jinder Mahal

Well, this was a waste.  Before the match could really get started, we have Kevin Owens show up with the briefcase.  Strowman runs right over Samir, and tried to go right after Owens, and was counted out.  Moving on.

Winner:  Jinder Mahal, by countout

Backstage Segment:  Kurt and Corbin

She wants to talk with Kurt, you know who…Stephanie McMahon.  She has a plan for protecting the main event.  Kurt does not like the idea.

Tonight:  Seth Rollins Vs Drew McIntyre

Tonight:  Sasha and Bayley vs The Riott Squad

Backstage Segment:  Mojo Rawley and the C-Squad

Mojo tells them he has beaten them all, they are nothing.  Bobby Roode shows up, and suggests they fight.  They continue to fight until officials break them up.

Match Number 4:  Apollo Crews Vs Akam

Akam had set this match up as a win, but he misses a shoulder block, and Crews rolls him up for the win.

Winner:  Apollo Crews, by pinfall

Next:  Seth Rollins Vs Drew McIntyre

Next Week:  Ronda Rousey Vs Alicia Fox in Raw debut match

Match Number 5:  Seth Rollins Vs Drew McIntyre

Rollins had set up the Curb Stomp, but Ziggler shows up and causes the DQ loss for McIntyre.  Rollins fights back, and he is able to escape the hands of Ziggler and McIntyre.

Winner:  Seth Rollins, by DQ

Earlier Tonight:  Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman

Backstage Segment:  Roman Reigns

Kurt comes in, saying Steph called him earlier, and since Brock is here tonight, Stephanie asked if Roman leaves tonight.  When is this going to stop?  He understands the pressure Kurt has been going through, he is a legend, an Olympic Gold Medalist.  He has been a champion, when will this stop.  He’s not a yes-man?  Roman is about to leave, he decks a smiling Corbin, and leaves the building.

In-Ring Interview:  The B-Team

Charly shows up for the night, wants some words from the Tag Champs.  The beginning of summer, they picked up a new identity, and ever since then, strung together some wins, 7-0 in that span.  What is their success?  You have to believe in yourself Charles.  Curtis says they are living their dreams, and Curtis doesn’t want to wake up.

One team that isn’t happy are The Deleter of Worlds.  They are a strange group, sore losers.  They beat them, so how about they show up, and face them face-to-face.

The Deleter of Worlds come in through the lights go out, come back on, and there they are.  They tell us what they tell us.  They will haunt them until they are finally DELETED!!

The Revival has arrived!!  How are these 4 delusional bafoons at the top of the Tag team division.  They remind them they beat Lashley and reigns, 2 of the best in-ring performers in the ring today.  Deleter of Worlds, step aside, because they need to tak care of business.  Bo says he and Curtis can get out of their way, because obviously the four of you need to have a talk.  Four men start to fight, with B-Team escaping out of the ring.

Match Number 6:  The Deleter of Worlds Vs The Revival

The Revival pick up the win with Shatter Machine, and The B-Team is ready for them.

Winners:  The Revival, by pinfall

Backstage Interview:  Seth Rollins

He goes by the numbers game, but there is no stopping Seth from getting his IC Title back at Summerslam.  But now the 2 men attack Rollins, and it ends with Drew’s kick to Seth’s head.

Match Number 7:  Sasha Banks and Bayley Vs The Riott Squad

The new best friends are on the same page again, picking up the victory over The Riott Squad.  They win with the combination Bank Statement/Belly to Bayley for the pinfall.

Winners:  Bayley and Sasha Banks, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Brock and Heyman

Heyman is still trying to sell the idea of going out there, say a few words, and leave.  Heyman informs Brock he has a contract with Brock, but he also has a contract with WWE, and if he can’t work with WWE, he can’t give Brock what he wants.  So as friends, let’s do this.  Brock grabs Heyman by the jacket, and makes it clear they never were friends.  Heyman works for Brock, not the other way around.  No go out there, and do your job.

Next Week:  Bobby Roode Vs Mojo Rawley

Next Week:  Ronda Rousey Vs Alicia Fox

In-Ring Promo:  Brock Lesnar

Kurt, Corbin, and Heyman all come out to the ring to begin the segment.  Kurt orders Heyman to bring out Lesnar, or this is his very last night on Monday Night Raw.

Heyman comes in, we know what his name is.  He’s very subdued with what he’s going to say and the fans are singing Nah Nah Nah Hey Hey Hey Goodbye.  My client Brock Lesnar is not coming out here tonight.  Kurt wants to explain what a real champion does, he shows up.  He defends his title at all costs.  He does things for WWE Universe, he does things for charities, yet he does none of that.  Brock Lesnar has to be the worst Universal Champion of all-time.  Heyman agrees with that view.  He tried to mold him as a champion, not just UFC Champion, but WWE Champion.  Brock doesn’t care, he barely tolerates Heyman, he does what he wants.  He tried to mold Brock off of Kurt Angle, and Olympic Gold Medalist that win with a broken freaking neck, but he does what he wants to do.  Stop the crap says Kurt.  Heyman says he respects Kurt, he would love to have a working relationship.  Kurt fires Heyman.

THE BEAST shows up.  Brock asks Kurt if he has a problem with him?  Does Corbin have a problem with him?  Brock nails Kurt with a F-5.  Corbin walks away, and Brock attacks Heyman, choking him out.  We have We Want Roman chants, which has to make Vince McMahom beam with pride in the back.  Brock backs off, smiles and we end the show here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This show took forever, it made it seem it was going to be a big show, but it turned out to be a disappointment.  Brock shows up, still no Roman confrontation.  They have to make him look strong, going into the Summerslam main event.

Rollins Vs Drew was fun, but very short.  The theme of the show tonight.  I did enjoy Roman’s promo to Heyman.  He needed something like that, now we just need a confrontation, where even if Brock has the upper hand, Roman has to fight.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Sound off here.
