If you missed last night’s NXT Takeover:  Chicago, click here NXT Takeover: Chicago Live Results 6/16/18 (Gargano Vs Ciampa)

:::Editor’s Note::: I won’t be able to see MITB until around 8:00.  I won’t be able to see the Kick-Off show at all, and will start watching at 8:00.  So I won’t be doing live coverage, but I will report as I see it.  Stay tuned for this tonight.

Match Number 1:  Daniel Bryan Vs Big Cass

Big Cass was a bit cocky coming into the ring, but the same result as Backlash took place, when Daniel made Cass tap out again to the Heel Lock.  Crowd loves Daniel Bryan, for sure.

Winner:  Daniel Bryan, by submission

Backstage Segment:  New Day and Kevin Owens

New Day is talking about strategy for tonight’s Money in the Bank, Kevin Owens brought gifts….pancakes and Canadian Maple Syrup.  Kevin wants to have a game plan to stop Braun Strowman, but Owens says he hates pancakes, and he hates Booty-O’s.  Just not the right thing to say.  New Day throws Kevin out of the room, and he says he can’t stand Chicago, he can’t stand them.

Match Number 2:  Bobby Lashley Vs Sami Zayn

Lashley had some fun at Sami Zayn’s expense, 3 Vertical Suplexes, and Bobby finally pins Sami at his third Suplex.  Maybe now we can stop with Bobby Lashley’s sister storyline?  WWE just doesn’t know how to market him very well.

Winner:  Bobby Lashley, by pinfall

Tonight:  Ronda Rousey Vs Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship

Video:  Challenger Vs Champion

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Hello, I am Elias, and I have one question for you tonight….WHO WANTS TO WALK WITH ELIAS?  Elias is here to take something away from Seth Rollins, like Seth took something from him last Monday night.  Seth Rollins is just a stepping stone on to bigger and better things.  And tonight, we will find out WHO WALKS WITH ELIAS?  Chicago, Elias knows he is in Chicago, because they are scumbags who want to take hostage of the show.  We Are Scumbags chants, and they will silence their phones, shut their mouths, and listen to what Elias has to play.  You know, Chicago, you’re just not worth it.

Match Number 3:  Seth Rollins (WWE IC Champ) Vs Elias, for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

The match started slow, but man did this match pick up, and the finish was awesome.  Elias worked on Seth’s hurt knee, but heart and desire took over for Seth.  Some near falls, but Elias set things up for Drift Away, but Rollins blocked it, and rolls Elias over, even hooking the tight for the win, and retaining the IC Title.  Great job by both men.

Winner, and STILL IC Champion:  Seth Rollins, by pinfall

June 15th:  WWE Extreme Rules

Match Number 4:  Charlotte Flair Vs Ember Moon Vs Sasha Banks Vs Becky Lynch Vs Naomi Vs Natalya Vs Lana Vs Alexa Bliss in a Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Amazing match, many of the women had their opportunities.  It came down to Becky Lynch within reach, but Little Miss Bliss flipped over the ladder, and climbed up for the briefcase, and won the match.  Little Miss Bliss is Miss Money in the Bank.

Winner:  Alexa Bliss

Backstage Segment:  Kurt Angle and Paige

The two respective General Managers had small chit-chat about tonight’s show.  The Raw Constable Baron Corbin reminds Kurt he can’t make Stephanie McMahon angry. and Paige reminds Baron he won MITB, but lost the title match.  Baron was sad about that reminder.

Match Number 5:  Roman Reigns Vs Jinder Mahal

Roman wins the match, by a spear.  Simir Singh showed up in a wheelchair and an arm sling.  He tried to shove Roman into the ring post.  Didn’t quite work out.  He was met with a spear too.

Winner:  Roman Reigns, by pinfall

Earlier Tonight:  The Bludgeon Brothers def Gallows and Anderson

Match Number 6:  Carmella (SD Live Women’s Champ) Vs Asuka for the SD Live Women’s Championship

Well, this was a strange ending here, with someone dressed as Asuka, and this stuns Asuka, she didn’t know who this person was, and Mella nails the Mella Kick for the clean pinfall.  The person dressed as Asuka was none other than James Ellsworth.  Boy, they are making Asuka look like just an ordinary woman wrestler in WWE.

Winner, and STILL WWE SD Live Women’s Champion:  Carmella, by pinfall

Saturday October 6th:  WWE Super Showdown in Australia

Match Number 7:  AJ Styles (WWE Champ) Vs Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last man Standing Match for the WWE Championship

What a match, by far the match of the night.  These two used spot after spot to answer the 10 count.  Shinsuke used a low blow, then AJ answered with one on his own.  It took 3 Phenomenal Forearms to finally get it done, and the last one was right through the table.  Not sure if they can do another match between these two, because this truly seemed like AJ was the victor here, and STILL your WWE Champion, AJ Styles.  Both men tore the house down.

Winner, and STILL WWE Champion:  AJ Styles

Match Number 8:  Nia jax (Raw Women’s Champ) Vs “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, for the Raw Women’s Championship

Ronda weathered through the storm in the first part of the match, as Nia dominated the first part.  But Ronda showed heart, slapped on the Armbar, but Nia kept breaking it up.  Ronda even tried a Crossbody for the first time.  She used a modified Rock Bottom, and was about to slap on the Armbar, but Alexa Bliss caused the DQ loss for Nia, and nailed her with the briefcase, shoved her into the ringpost, and sent her out of the ring, even flipped her over the announce table with the briefcase.  Then…

Winner:  “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, by DQ, Nia jax retains Raw Women’s Title

Match Number 9:  Nia Jax (Raw Women’s Champ) Vs Alexa Bliss

We have a new Women’s Champion, with Twisted Bliss, Alexa Bliss cashes in on the same night, for just the second time in WWE history, and is now the new Raw Women’s Champion.

Winner, and NEW Raw Women’s Champion:  Alexa Bliss, by pinfall

Match Number 10:  Samoa Joe Vs Finn Balor Vs Bobby Roode Vs Rusev Vs Braun Strowman Vs Kofi Kingston Vs Kevin Owens Vs The Miz in a Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Kofi Kingston being in this match tied Kane for the most Money in the Bank Ladder matches, and the winner becomes Braun Strowman.  The highlight of the match was Rusev using a Triple Accolade on The Miz, Kofi, and Roode.  All 7 men began trying to take Braun out, they used many chairs, and yet “The Monster” came back from the dead, and took Owens out through a table, when Kevin was on the ladder.  The finish came when Finn Balor fought Braun and Kofi Kingston, who was riding on Braun’s back to try to achieve the briefcase.  Braun clipped out Balor, and flipped Kofi over, grabbed the briefcase, and “The Monster in the Bank” is now Braun.  The show ends here.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Some of the matches were misses, but my goodness the big matches all delivered, including Ronda Vs Nia.  Ronda proved she can hold her own inside a wrestling ring, and with Alexa winning the title, it gives you a preview to what we can see.  The 2 Money in the Bank ladder matches were fun.  The WWE Championship match was fantastic, Elias vs Rollins was memorable.  I want to see what happens now with Raw tomorrow night.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Let me know, I will talk to you all tomorrow night.
