In-Ring Promo:  John Cena

Cena loves coming to LA/  Mixed emotions, but emotions none the less.  This is Smackdown Live.  He is John Cena, allow me to tell you why he is here.  He is here for the same reason that 99.2% of the Smackdown Live roster is here.  The only superstar who has a spot to Wrestlemania is Shinsuke Nakamura.  They are all in on a chance at Wrestlemania.  Less than two weeks, there is a Fatal 5-Way for the WWE Championship.  Cena wants in.  He is not here for a hand out, he wants a chance to earn a spot to that match.  So let’s cut to the case and find out what Cena has to do to earn that spot to Wrestlemania.

Here comes the money!!  Here comes the money!!

Shane McMahon heads to the ring.  Shane thanks Los Angeles for the love, what’s up Los Angeles!!  John Cena, one of the most decorated superstars in the history of WWE is standing in the ring at Smackdown Live.  Now John, we heard what is on his mind, and know what he is saying.  A superstar of your magnitude, everyone is looking for a path to Wrestlemania.  But the direction Cena is looking for, half of these folks want Cena to win, and half of them want him to lose, Cena thinks it’s a great idea to put him in that match.  The path way Cena is looking for to put him in that match at Fastlane, in 2 weeks.  If he wins, he not only would go on to Wrestlemania, if he won, history would be made.  Because he would walk into Wrestlemania as the 17-time World Champion.  This is the land of opportunity, however, there is…..here comes Daniel Bryan.

Shane, they are on the same page tonight.  Because Smackdown is the land of opportunity.  And every superstar has earned that opportunity.  So if you want that opportunity, we will give you that.  In tonight’s main event, if Cena wins, we will put you in that Fastlane match.  So who is John’s opponent?  Cena will go in the ring against someone he knows, against the WWE Champion himself, AJ Styles.

Tonight:  Naomi Vs Ruby Riott

Next:  Sami Zayn Vs Baron Corbin

Match Number 1:  Baron Corbin Vs Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens joined us at commentary, and I guess Shane did not like this.  Before commercial, he and Daniel bickered about it.  The finish came when Dolph Ziggler showed up out of nowhere with a Superkick on Owens.  Sami saw this, tried to attack Corbin, but Baron turned it into End of Days for the win.  After the match, Ziggler gives Corbin Zig Zag, to show us he still can win the Fatal 5-Way.

Winner:  Baron Corbin, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Daniel Bryan and Shane

Shane enjoyed the ending, and Daniel asked to go home to see his family.

Next:  Naomi Vs Ruby Riott

Backstage Segment:  Shane, Kevin, and Sami

Shane runs into them, he saw what happened, but told them to go home with Daniel and have dinner with them.  Brie does not like it when they are all late for dinner.

Match Number 2:  Ruby Riott Vs Naomi

The Riott Squad shows up, and Naomi counters with Charlotte and Becky.  Ruby Riott picks up the win with a kick to Naomi’s head, and pins her.  Before The Riott Squad could get their hands on Naomi, Charlotte and Becky back her up.  In 12 days, Ruby Riott Vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Winner:  Ruby Riott def Naomi, by pinfall

Tonight:  Cena Vs Styles

Backstage Segment:  The Fashion Police

Josh Duhamel, who is starring in the Unsolved:  The Murders of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.  Breezango thinks he is a real detective, so they bring in The New Day, specifically Big E, but this isn’t Big E. Smalls.  This disappoints Breezango, while New Day are in action, next.

In-Ring Promo:  The New Day

With Wrestlemania season in full swing, your boys….The New Day are looking to secure their spot on the grandest stage of them all.  Kofi tells us first, we get to Fastlane, they have to take out their biggest rivalries that they took from Money in the Bank, all the way to Hell in a cell.  They will do it again.  Xavier says they get an opportunity to take on Jim and Jey to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.  Nothing against them, but they will win the tag titles again, and Kofi said when they win, they are heading back to The Big Easy, in New Orleans, and party, because you know why?  Because New Day Rocks.  Enter the Champs.

There they go again, spreading the word of positivity, with some pancakes.  They did go to war though, and there was one tag team left standing tall, with these.  They haven’t looked past since.  They used to be like them, dancing, wearing yellow attire, but it didn’t get them anywhere.  They spent 9 years crying, telling everyone The Usos belong on Wrestlemania.  But that is the thing, 9 years for The Usos, no Wrestlemania.  9 years, sidelined.  But this year, its our time.  This year, they are on 4th and goal, ready to take their chance.  This year, welcome to The Uso Penitentiary.

5 years, they didn’t cry about their situation, The New Day had been at the top, running with what they got, breaking records, becoming 4-time Tag Team Champions.  So, no they haven’t been on the sideline, all they have done is break that door down, and continue to kick ass.  The 5 men go face to face, but here comes The Bludgeon Brothers.

New Day and The Usos walk away.

Tonight:  Cena Vs Styles

Selfie Promo:  Dolph Ziggler

Dolph talks about how he is the most decorated superstar in WWE.  He will win the Fatal 5-Way, and how everyone he can steal the show, and become the new WWE Champion.

Backstage Interview:  Bobby Roode

Renee Young is with Bobby, he is excited about his match with Randy Orton.  He wants to be the very best United States Champion of all time, and he considers Randy as one of the best WWE superstars of all time.  But lately he seems to have an issue with Roode, it can’t be because he is ranked higher than him in the Smackdown Top 10 ranking?  Orton shows up, and he makes it clear, he wants that United States Championship, the only title he has never won.  And Bobby just happens to be the United States Champion right now.

Match Number 3 Shinsuke Nakamura Vs Aidan English

Kinsasha, match is done.  Rusev is not happy about this.  Shinsuke is the only one right now who has a date locked up for Wrestlemania.

Winner:  Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall

John Cena comes out, which brings us to…

Match Number 4:  AJ Styles (WWE Champ) Vs John Cena in a non-title match

John Cena defeats AJ again with an AA, after a grueling 25 minutes.  Cena is now heading to Fastlane, in a 6-Pack Challenge match for the WWE Championship.  Owens, Zayn, and Corbin come out to take care of Cena.  Ziggler comes in and saves both AJ and Cena, and we end the show with Ziggler taking out AJ and Cena.  The show ends here.

Winner:  John Cena, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This was a good show, we had a great main event.  I just didn’t like AJ coming out in the beginning to confront Cena.  He is the champion after all.  He needed to have a say, maybe tell Cena how if the shoes were on the other fit, Cena wouldn’t be open to give other guys these chances.  But maybe Styles will say that next week, because he has been losing many matches of late.  Shinsuke finally worked a match, and they brought up he has a spot regardless.  I want to see Roode Vs Orton at Fastlane too.  I loved the promo between New Day and The Usos too.  Not a big fan of Ruby Riott, but she gets a title match against Charlotte at Fastlane, okay.  Overall, a decent show.  What were your thoughts?  Let me know.
