In-Ring Promo:  Shane McMahon

Shane welcomes us to Smackdown Live, and he feels very conflicted.  Tonight, we will have Kevin Owens face Sami Zayn, and the winner of that match will face the WWE Champion AJ Styles at Fastlane.  He doesn’t feel either man deserves a title shot, but a man he respects dearly does, and he brings out Daniel Bryan.

Smackdown Live is the land of opportunity, and they listen to the fans.  If they feel a superstar deserves that opportunity, then they can make it happen.  But Shane feels Daniel is not listening, and we get a Rusev Day chant, which Shane says duly noted.  Shane tells Daniel that the fans may want to see another superstar get that WWE Championship, so should we give it to the same people?  Daniel tells Shane we know what happened in the WWE Championship match, the referee made a mistake.  And what better way for Shane to see two men he despises rip each other’s head off.  Shane will enjoy it, but Daniel continues to give them opportunities, and he doesn’t understand why Daniel continues to give those two individuals opportunities.  Shane understands what Daniel has done, which is change the WWE Landscape forever with The Yes Movement.  And although he has had similar career paths as the two individuals, but they are not you.  Shane knows that Daniel would love to compete in the ring, we all know it.  But what you are doing?  And what exactly is Daniel doing?  Shane believes that Daniel is living vicarious through Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.  Here comes the WWE Champion.

Since the New Year started last month, AJ has traveled 10,000 miles defending this title.  He does what he does because that is what he does.  He can deal with the travel, the flights, the delayed flights, because that is what he does.  He can deal with being away from family, because he has to.  But what he can’t deal with is the General Managers obsessing with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.  Not just Daniel Bryan, but also with Shane too.  He will defend his title against anyone, this is the house that AJ Styles built.  He will defend this title, and move on to Wrestlemania.  Just stay out of his way.

Kevin Thoughts;

A decent episode, but Daniel was right, AJ said they both were obsessing Sami and KO, and that needs to stop.  Very minimal from Shinsuke, but we had a nice appearance from Orton.  What you were your thoughts on the show?  Send them to me here.
