Match Number 1:  Dolph Ziggler Vs Baron Corbin To Determine Who Is Added To Fatal 4-Way For WWE Championship At Fastlane

The match does not happen, because Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were backstage, laying out Corbin.  As Kevin said one down, one to go.  They head to the ring, to cut off Dolph.  Dolph fights, but Sami and Kevin, the Best Friends take over.  Sami nails a Helluva Kick to seal the deal.  Corbin comes to the ring, Sami and Kevin lay him out again.

Winner:  No Contest

Match Number 2:  Charlotte Flair (SD Live Women’s Champ) Vs Sarah Logan, in a non-title match

Becky Lynch and Naomi came out to counter The Riott Squad in the match.  Sarah fought hard, but the champ prevailed with Natural Selection, pinning Logan.  2 down, 1 to go.

Winner:  Charlotte Flair, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon

Shane makes this clear to Daniel, this won’t fly.  Even though Ziggler and Corbin are banged up, they will compete tonight.  It will be Owens Vs Corbin, and Ziggler Vs Zayn.  If either man wins, they are in the title match.  It could be a 4-Way or a 5_way match.  And if one of your boys messes things up, they will be out of the title match.

Match Number 3:  Kevin Owens Vs Baron Corbin

They are booking Baron as a face here, with the selling.  Corbin picks up the win with Deep Six, after Owens tried a Pop-Up Powerbomb.  Sami Zayn is not amused backstage.  The title match at Fastlane is now a Fata 4-Way match.

Winner:  Baron Corbin, by pinfall

Next:  Bobby Roode’s US Title Open Challenge

In-Ring Promo:  Bobby Roode

From the moment he won this title, he wanted to be known as the greatest United States Champion, and to steal a man he wants to surpass in John Cena, the United States Open Challenge is officially open.  Now this goes for everyone in the locker room, and he hopes the man he faces him goes face to face, and not someone who comes from behind with a RKO out of nowhere.

Enter Randy Orton.

But now comes Jinder Mahal.

Ladies and gentlemen, “The Viper” Randy Orton.  Randy, at least the WWE Universe respects you, he wishes he can say the same about the Smackdown Live roster, who voted him number 9 on the Top 10 Superstar list.  Former 13-time WWE Champion, first-ballot Hall of Famer.  They have had their differences, but Jinder respects him.  Randy, the rest of the SD Live roster, they think you already peaked.  Now Randy has the mic.  Jinder, I don’t give a damn about any Top 10 list.  Never will, Jinder doesn’t buy it.  16 years in the WWE, number 9.  6 months in the WWE, number 5.  That doesn’t bother you?  You have worked on your craft, and you were beaten by a relative newcomer.  Jinder says he respects Randy Orton, but he has it on good authority, Bobby already thinks of himself as a “Legend Killer”.  Bobby tells Jinder he isn’t even in the Top 10.  Maybe the reason he isn’t in the Top 10 is because nobody respects Jinder.  But he respects Orton.  However, perhaps the reason why he is just number 9 is because everyone, including Bobby himself is tired of being jumped behind with a RKO.  So Orton gives one of the Singh Brothers a RKO, Roode goes right after Jinder, and Roode decks Orton.  But Jinder nails a Khallas on both Orton and Roode, making a statement.

In-Ring Promo:  The New Day

Pancakes are in the ring, and Kofi brings up today is a special day, it’s Fat Tuesday…Pancake Tuesday Bay Bay!!  Xavier speaks now, in order to celebrate our favorite Tuesday, Big E will attempt to destroy 113 pancakes in 8 minutes to break the record.  So how does Big E feel?  Good.  Set the clock, here we go.

Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin interrupt the “fun”.  Chad said this is awesome, something he had always wanted to do.  Shelton is impressed by this, they need to take the pancake eating business on the road.  When they leave, they can leave the Tag Team Division with some serious competitors.  Are you saying Kofi Kingston is not a serious competitor?  Are you saying Big E is not a serious competitor?  Are you saying Xavier Woods as a serious competitor?  Let me remind you The New Day are record-breaking WWE Tag Team Champions.  Besides, who wants to see you?  Chad dropped a pancake, and so did Shelton.  Big E is irate.  Don’t you touch our cakes.  Chad has some news for them….nobody likes pancakes.  Shelton said from now on, they are eating waffles.

Match Number 4:  The New Day Vs Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin

This was a serious match with The New Day winning the match, with Midnight Hour.  Kofi pins Gable.

Winners:  The New Day

Next:  Ziggler Vs Sami

Backstage Interview:  Dolph Ziggler

Renee Young bring Ziggler out, welcoming him back.  Ziggler has been more selective in picking his spots.  Dolph is here finding another opportunity, and he loves this.  He’s out here to put on a show, and nobody can do what he can do in that ring.  And Kevin and Sami both know they can’t touch this.  Ziggler is back for one reason, and one reason only.  He wants to main event Wrestlemania, and he be damned if that doesn’t happen now.

54 Days Until Wrestlemania

Video:  The Usos

They run things here on Smackdown Live.  Lights out if you challenge them.  Welcome to The Uso Penitentiary.  The Bludgeon Brothers destroyed that TV, and they sent a message.

Backstage Segment:  The Kevin and Sami Show

Owens apologizes for losing his match, but Sami can’t allow the same thing to be done.  It decreases their chances at winning the WWE Championship.  So don’t let Kevin down.  Sami said there is no we, this match is every man for himself.

Match Number 5:  Sami Zayn Vs Dolph Ziggler

In a great match, Ziggler picks up the victory, and is now headed to the title match at Fastlane, pinning Sami with a Superkick.  Dolph celebrates with the fans as the show ends here.

Winner:  Dolph Ziggler, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

No AJ Styles, no Shinsuke Nakamura, who will get a title shot at Wrestlemania.  But, this was a good show.  It centered around 2 good matches, and the booking of both Ziggler and Corbin seems to be they are faces.  The crowd was hot for Corbin during his match with Owens.  Maybe that is just a one night thing, or it could be future plans.  I also enjoyed the Roode-Jinder-Orton moment, and you get the feeling this will continue at Fastlane.  We will see in the coming weeks.  What are your thoughts on the show?  Send them to me here.  Certainly a better show tonight than last week.
