Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens make their way down to the ring to start off Smackdown Live. Kevin Owens tells us that him and Sami Zayn are the future of WWE and the next Co-WWE Champion. Kevin runs down the events of the last few weeks and says that AJ Styles has no chance of retaining his championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.

AJ Styles interrupts Kevin and Sami and tells them they are not going to hurt him or take the WWE Championship. Styles tells Owens and Zayn that they have the advantage but they are not phenomenal like he is.

Owens says that ignorance is the reason AJ Styles is in the predicament he is in currently and that ignorance is the official language of Washington D.C.

Kevin and Sami show us footage of AJ saying he will fight both Kevin and Sami separately in the same night. Kevin and Sami give the idea for the matches, tonight!

HERE COMES THE GENERAL MANAGER DANIEL BRYAN!

Before Daniel gets to his point, AJ Styles accepts both matches for tonight!

*Commercial Break*

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are backstage. Daniel tells us that he was not going to put AJ in back to back matches night. Daniel asks Shane if he is questioning if Styles can defend himself tonight. Shane responds with AJ is not the one he is questioning right now.

First Match: Jey Uso vs Chad Gable

Chad Gable starts out the match with a couple takedowns against Jey Uso. Gable continues to show off his quickness and toughness early on in this match. Jey Uso smacks Gable sending him flying to the outside of the ring.

*Commercial Break*

We come back from commercial break with a Gable cover on Uso and Uso kicks out at 2. Gable goes for a moonsault and misses. The action continues outside the ring after a suicide dive from Uso. Uso is now on the top rope, misses, but then hits a Samoan drop on Gable. Uso goes for a superkick but misses. Gable hits Uso with a roll-through suplex pin combination that collects a 1-2-3.

Backstage, Renee Young is live with Shinsuke Nakamura. Renee asks how Shinsuke is going to last in the Royal Rumble, he says with continued knees to faces.

“HYPE HYPE HYPE!” is shouted from off camera and Baron Corbin walks into view of the camera. Corbin tells us he is going to win the Royal Rumble. Nakamura tells Corbin that they are going to Rumble tonight!

*Commercial Break*

Second Match: Naomi vs Liv Morgan

Naomi starts off with a quick punch and cover to no avail. Naomi goes for a kick, misses, and spins right into another kick that connects. Morgan plays possum in the corner and throws Naomi into the turnbuckle. She goes for the pin, and Naomi kicks out at two.

The rest of the Smackdown Live Women’s Locker Room empties out to ringside.

Naomi hits a sunset flip into a pin and gets the 1-2-3 on Morgan.

The rest of the Riott Squad hit the ring to attack Naomi. Becky Lynch hits the ring to even the odds. Lana hits Ruby Riott with a nasty kick. Lana gets thrown over the top rope by Natalya. Becky and Naomi chase Natalya out of the ring. Lynch attempts to throw Naomi over the top rope.

WOOO! Here comes the queen, Charlotte.

Charlotte tells us that friendships do not matter and tells everyone good luck, good luck especially to the winner that would face her at WrestleMania.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin is next!

Third Match: Baron Corbin vs Shinsuke Nakamura

As we kick off this match, we are reminded that Corbin won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Nakamura drops a knee into Corbin’s face early on in this match. Corbin rolls outside of the ring and Nakamura follows. Corbin acts like he is walking away from the match so Nakamura chases him. Corbin whips around and delivers a massive hand to the throat of Shinsuke. Corbin then throws Nakamura throat first into the turnbuckle.

*Commercial Break*

As we come back from commercial, Corbin is controlling Nakamura in the middle of the ring. Nakamura gets out of it and drops Corbin with a drop kick. Nakamura places Corbin on the top rope and delivers a strike to the mid-section. Shinsuke goes for the cover but Corbin kicks out. Corbin goes for a suplex but Nakamura drops Corbin on his face. Nakamura misses with the Kinsasha and Corbin hits the Deep Six. Cover. Kick out by Nakamura. Corbin hits a nasty clothesline and goes for another cover. Kick out.

Nakamura tries to get Corbin into an armbar but is not able to get it locked in. Shinsuke goes for another Kinsasha but HERE COMES AN RKO OUT OF NO WHERE!!! He then hits Corbin with another RKO.

The commentators recap the events of the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw.

The New Day cut a promo announcing that all three of them are entering the Royal Rumble. They then introduce the New United States Champion, Bobby Roode. Roode tells us that his reign as United States Champion will be absolutely GLORIOUS!

Guess what day it is. It’s Rusev Day!

Fourth Match: Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal, Rusev and Aiden English

We get back from commercial break and the match has already started with Rusev and Kofi Kingston in the ring. Rusev is completely in control of Kofi. Kofi hits a bulldog on Rusev and makes the tag to Roode while Rusev tags in English.

Roode hits a swinging neck-breaker off of the middle rope and then hits Jinder with a spinebuster. Rusev hits Roode with a superkick. Kofi knocks Rusev out of the ring and jumps on top of them. Roode tags in Woods and Woods hits a flying elbow off of the top rope on English and gets the pinfall.

Winners via Pinfall: The New Day and Bobby Roode

The commentators run down the card of the Royal Rumble.

As Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn make their way down to the ring, HERE COMES THE MONEY! Shane tells Sami and Kevin that if they get near the ring tonight during their partners’ respective matches, he will fire them on the spot.

The Fifth Match: WWE Champion AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens

Styles gives Owens a drop kick to start the match. Styles throws Owens into the corner and goes for a splash and misses. Owens then goes for a cannonball but also misses. Styles gets Owens into the Calf Crusher and Owens taps immediately!

Winner via Submission: WWE Champion AJ Styles

Zayn will not let the referee start the match as he continues to pound away on AJ Styles. Zayn drags Styles out of the ring and whips him into the steel steps. Zayn is hitting Styles with straight rights as we head to another commercial break.

*Commercial Break*

We come back from commercial to the referee asking Styles if he is okay. He says and the referee rings the bell.

The Sixth Match: WWE Champion AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn

Zayn continues to pound away on Styles as Kevin Owens is being attended to by medical personnel at ringside. Zayn is in control of Styles in the middle of the ring. Styles tries to fight out of it but is unable to for a second. Styles delivers a series of strikes and then a forearm to Zayn. Both Zayn and Styles are down.

Styles throws Zayn over the top rope and Zayn lands near Kevin Owens. Styles hits a flying maneuver over the top rope down to the floor onto Zayn. Styles attacks Owens who is being attended to. Zayn hits Styles from behind as we head to commercial.

*Commercial Break*

Zayn is in control of Styles as we come back from commercial. Zayn and Styles are both on the top rope and Styles delivers a hurricanrana from the top rope. Styles and Zayn are trading blows. Styles hits a neckbreaker on Zayn and goes for the cover, 1-2-KICK OUT. Styles sets up for the Styles Clash but Zayn counters with a Tornado DDT. Zayn thinks about the Helluva Kick but Styles counters with the Pele Kick! Styles goes for the cover, 1-2-KICK OUT BY ZAYN!

Zayn resists a suplex by Styles and hits a Michinoku Driver! 1-2-KICK OUT BY STYLES! Zayn looks to hit a superplex on Styles but counters! They end up on the outside of the ring and Styles tips over the stretcher with Owens on it! Styles climbs back into the ring and gets hit with a massive Helluva Kick and a BIG Blue Thunder Bomb from Zayn and covers Styles for the 1-2-3!
