Match Number 1:  The Undisputed Era (NXT Tag team Champs) Vs The Authors of Pain, for the NXT Tag team Championship

The Undisputed Era survived Philadelphia.  AOP came out fighting in this match, and earlier Akam tweaked his knee.  This caused the end of the match when AOP had Super Collider, but some miscommunication between Akam and Rezar cost them the match.  Bobby Fish rolls up Akam for the pin, and they retain the titles.

Winners, and STILL NXT Tag Team Champions:  The Undisputed Era

War Machine Are In The House

Video:  Armande “Cien” Almas

Match Number 2:  Kassius Ohno Vs Velveteen Dream

NXT crowd loves Dream, that is for sure.  He did knock out Ohno in less than 30 seconds.  Problem is he didn’t cover him.  Dream survived some wicked elbow shots, and the finish comes when Dream kicks out of an elbow smack, and Dream was able to hit Death Valley Driver, then went up to the top, and nails a Purple Rainmaker Elbow, for the win.

Winner:  Velveteen Dream, by pinfall

Match Number 3:  Ember Moon (NXT Women’s Champ) Vs Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship

This was a very creative finish here, earlier in the match Shayna stomped Ember’s elbow, and worked on the elbow for the duration of the match.  But Ember nails an Eclipse, but her elbow was killing her.  Shayna slaps on 2 armbars, the first time, Ember put her foot on the rope.  Second time, Ember was on the verge of tapping out, but she reversed it, and rolls up Shayna for the pinfall victory, keeping her Women’s Championship.  Shayna comes to ringside, and gives Ember a Kirifuda Clutch, to send the message that this isn’t over.

Winner, and STILL NXT Women’s Champion:  Ember Moon, by pinfall

Trevor “Ricochet” Mann is in the house tonight.

Match Number 4:  Adam Cole Vs Aleister Black in an Extreme Rules Match

This was by far the best match of the night, and that might include our main event.  Everything was involved here, we had Undisputed Era out, we had SAnitY comes out to help Black, we had 2 table breaks, wicked steel chair shots, and a Black Mass with Black pinning Cole.  These two had a war, and this might not be the end of it.

Winner:  Aleister Black, by pinfall

EC3 Is In The House!!

Match Number 5:  Andrade “Cien” Almas (NXT Champ) Vs Johnny Gargano, for the NXT Championship

What a match, these two worked their asses off, and the end result was the fans loved every second of it.  Gargano is the ultimate “Daniel Bryan” where he is an underdog, and can go through so much punishment, yet continue to fight through it, and never give up.  Zelina got involved in the match 2 times, but Candice LeRae, Johnny’s wife had enough, and speared Zelina, took her out of the match.  They did a spot where Johnny was up on the ring post, and Almas kicked him right in the head.  The ref asked him if he can continue, after which he could.  But a Hammerlock DDT did Johnny in, as Andrade retains his championship.  His wife Candice comes by to check on Johnny, and when they are up on top of the ramp, Tommaso Ciampa made his return, and nails Johnny with his crutch, to end the show.

Winner, and STILL NXT Champion:  Andrade “Cien” Almas, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

Going into the show, I wasn’t expecting much, but they found a way to not only exceed the expectations, but made it into such a great show.  Top to bottom, there wasn’t a bad match on the show.  I hated when DIY broke up, but now that Tommaso seems to be back, I can’t wait to see what those two can do at Takeover Wrestlemania.  We also have a star in the making in Aleister Black, and going by the awards he won, by the fans, everyone thinks so too.  That was a signature win over Cole.  The tag team match was great, and seeing the new faces, including EC3, War Machine, and Ricochet, the future is bright.  Looking forward to tomorrow night’s rumble too.  What were your thoughts on tonight’s show?  Send them to me.

NXT Year-End Awards:  Rivalry Of The year:  Aleister Black Vs The Velveteen Dream

The Velveteen Dream accepted the award, and wants to give thanks to God, because The Velveteen Dream is the closest to God in NXT as it gets.  But that was 2017, he is here for 2018.  Dream guarantees to knock out Kasseus Ohno in less than 30 seconds, and you can doubt him all you want, but it will be done.

Kayla Braxton is in the crowd, setting the stage for tonight, more End of the Year awards now.

NXT Superstar Of The Year:  Aleister Black

He set out to do something different, something unique, and to break out and do something unconventional.  He thanks the fans for this, and Renee told him he also won NXT Breakout Superstar Of The Year too.

NXT Female Superstar Of The Year:  Asuka

NXT Match Of The year:  Tyler Bate Vs Pete Dunne

Tyler Bate accepts the award.  He is honored for this honor.  What is his goal for 2018?  Another match of the year award.

Pete Dunne Joins The Panel

Pete did two things in 2017, one is to win the UK tournament, and the other to put UK Division on the map, and he did both of those things.  They both had a chip on their shoulder, it was their time to shine and they did just that.  This title represents the UK, it means the world to him.  The UK Division represents the best in the world.  Pete wants another challenge.

Mauro Ranallo and Percy Watson join us going over the card.  Nigel McGuiness is not with us tonight, he is under the weather.

Video:  Ember Moon Vs Shayna Baszler

Can Shayna spoil Ember Moon’s title celebration?

NXT Overall Competitor Of The Year:  Asuka

Video:  Andrade “Cien” Almas vs Johnny Gragano, NXT Championship

Zelina shows up to join the panel, she believes Andrade “Cien” Almas deserves to be involved in the NXT awards, he is the NXT Champion.  He is here to defeat Johnny Gargano, and maybe then he will get recognition he deserves.  He has already beaten Johnny twice, and tonight third time is the charm.
