In-Ring Promo:  John Cena

Cena says there is something wrong with this picture.  There is a young man wearing a wrong color hat, and a wrong color shirt, so he wants to give it to him, and he does, to a young fan.  On that note, Merry Christmas Chicago!!  Seeing that we have never done a live broadcast on Christmas Day, this is the first time we get a Merry Christmas chant.  Wherever he goes, he always wants to share that the WWE is his family.  They have had their ups, they have had their downs, and there is nowhere better Cena would want to be, then here on Christmas night.  The guitar riff interrupts Cena, and its Elias.

John, do you even know what WWE stands for?  Walk With Elias.  So right now, Elias has one question for everyone here.  Who wants to walk with Elias?  Cena will walk with Elias.  That is the smartest decision you ever made, Elias has been interrupted every time for the past few months, and he decided to interrupt John.  Loud CM Punk chants, and Elias said one thing is for sure, CM Punk ain’t damn sure going to interrupt Elias.  Cena is all for the chants, this is the holiday season.  Elias will perform, even if it takes all night.  Cena has some advice first, but Elias hushes him, and gets him the chair to sit.  The spotlight is on Elias.  Right now he needs everyone to silence their cellphones, and shut their mouths, because he has a special song for everyone.  It’s a Christmas song for Chicago.  Cena tells him to stop playing, and turn on the lights.  He was willing to give him a chance, was going to say not to say anything bad about Chicago.  This is a great place for the holidays.  The crowd is electric, they are pumped and ready to go.  Elias plays okay, but somewhere in the song, he calls the fans a jerk.  Elias just likes to speak the truth.  They aren’t being the jerks, Elias is.  He didn’t think of it that way, maybe he is the jerk.  He would like to sing the song again, if Chicago can give him another chance.  John said Chicago is a very tough city, but this is Christmas, so play it one more time.  Elias is now giving Chicago love.  He even wants to have Cena finish the song, and when Cena turns around, Elias decks him.  He doesn’t play for Cena.  He doesn’t play for the fans, he plays for himself.  He nails Cena again, and says Santa didn’t come to his house this morning, so he challenges Cena to a match right now.

Match Number 1:  John Cena Vs Elias

Raw for the first hour is commercial free, and they kicked off with a fun match that has Cena win with the AA, picking up the win.

Winner:  John Cena, by pinfall

Video:  Samoa Joe

Backstage Segment:  Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle

Jason hugs Kurt, wishing him a Merry Christmas.  Seth Rollins shows up, he wants Samoa Joe, after what he did to Dean Ambrose.  Jason Jordan wants a shot at Joe too.  Kurt tells them when they try to get their hands on Joe, The Bar is right there.  So he suggests they team together, they both have raw emotion, he loves that.  But they need to figure things out first, tonight they get a shot at the Raw Tag Team Titles, against The Bar.  Then Roman Reigns shows up, and Kurt tells him he gets a shot at Joe tonight, for the Intercontinental Title.  Merry Christmas

In-Ring Interview:  THE Brian Kendrick

Charly Caruso tells us Brian will get a match against Hideo Itami, and Brian tells us about Hideo’s accolades.  But he wants to find out if Hideo belongs here?  He and Jack Gallagher are technical performers, and they want to find out together, and that is what they will do.

Match Number 2:  Hideo Itami Vs THE Brian Kendrick

Hideo proved he belongs in WWE, picks up the win with a GTS.  The Chicago fans know that move.

Winner:  Hideo Itami, by pinfall

Video:  First ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Backstage Segment:  The Miztourage

Sasha, Mickie, and Bayley are walking backstage, and they run into The Miztourage, without The Miz, they thought they would bring some Miztourage holiday cheer, and sing for us.  Merry Mizmas.

Match Number 3:  Absolution Vs Sasha Banks, Mickie James, and Bayley

Absolution dominated here tonight, with Bayley missing a Belly to Bayley, and is met with a RAMPaige, for the win.

Winners:  Absolution, by pinfall

Last Week:  Dean Ambrose

Backstage Interview:  Samoa Joe

Renee Young interviews Joe, which seems awkward.  Joe does not have any regrets, because at the end of the day, Dean Ambrose can spend the holidays with the ones he loves, oops.  But now this gets Roman Reigns upset, and that will be his downturn tonight, as he knocks him out, and becomes the new Intercontinental Champion.

Next:  Kane

Match Number 4:  Kane Vs Heath Slater

Slater, God Bless him tried, but Kane crushed him.  His kids still don’t have Christmas presents.

Winner:  Kane, by pinfall

And now Kane stalks Rhyno, but Rhyno fights back.  He tries a Gore, but is met with a Chokeslam.  God Bless Rhyno too.

In-Ring Promo:  Curt Hawkins

Usually, Curt would tell us to face the facts.  But tonight, he has to face the facts.  2017 hasn’t been his year, with the losses.  But 2017 isn’t over yet, so he issues an open challenge, and after he wins, his 146 match losing streak comes to an end.

Match Number 5:  Finn Balor Vs Curt Hawkins

The streak continues with 147 straight losses.  Coup De Grace, match is done.  They really need to give Balor something to work with.

Winner:  Finn Balor def Curt Hawkins, by pinfall

Tonight:  Intercontinental Championship

Backstage Segment:  The Miztourage

The Miztourage gives Goldust a MizMas cheer.

Backstage Promo:  Bray Wyatt

She hated this time of the year, she hated the commercial of pagan holidays hurt the most.  She hated someone like Matt Hardy, who gave them something to believe in.  They actually think they are fighting side by side of Matt, but he’s just using you, for his financial gain.  Look around Broken Warriors, you are surrounded by the fireflies.  You are surrounded by her.  Chicago, I’m here.

That was Matt’s promo.

Backstage Segment:  The Bar

Sheamus and Cesaro are upset that they have to defend their Tag Titles tonight, but Sheamus got Sheamus a gift.  It’s a Dean Ambrose action figure, complete with a missing arm.  Cesaro got something for Sheamus.  It’s Seth Rollins.  But wait, there is more.  Jason Jordan, he doesn’t want this.  But Cesaro understands that, Rollins doesn’t him as a tag team partner, and Kurt Angle doesn’t want him as a son.

Next:  Miracle on 34th Street Fight

Match Number 6:  Enzo Amore (WWE Cruiserweight Champ), Drew Gulak, and Ariya Daivari Vs Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa, and Mustafa Ali in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight

This of course was a comedy match, with Enzo, Drew, and Ariya working as Santa and his elves.  Cedric picks up the win, with a Lumbar Check, pinning Daivari.  Next week, the Cruiserweight Title is on the line, with Enzo Vs Alexander next week.

Winners:  Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali, and Akira Tozawa, by pinfall

Next:  Intercontinental Championship

Backstage Segment:  Enzo and Nia

Enzo and Nia Jax are right under a mistletoe, and you know what that means.  How ya doin’?  But Alexa Bliss stops the potential kiss, because she wants to discuss the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Backstage Interview:  Roman Reigns

Renee Young has the Intercontinental Champion, she wants to know his thoughts about Samoa Joe saying he will take out Reigns.  This isn’t about Joe, this is about avenging for what happened to his brother, and he will leave Chicago as the Intercontinental Champion.

Match Number 7:  Roman Reigns (WWE IC Champ) Vs Samoa Joe, for the Intercontinental Championship

I loved this story, and this match, Roman didn’t care what the rules were, he wanted revenge.  Joe slapped the Koquina Clutch on Reigns, Roman just got his arm up in time, to break the count, but now Roman was a man possessed, he shoved the ref, and the DQ finish was up.  But now Roman hit 2 Superman Punches, and set up Joe’s shoulder, bent it at the ring apron, and just missed it with a chairshot.  The rematch is set, down the road.

Winner:  Samoa Joe, by DQ (Reigns retains IC Title)

Backstage Segment:  Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan

Seth has a smile on his face, liking the beatdown.  Jason comes up to Seth, and Rollins knows they will be on the same page, all he cares about is taking care of The Bar, and returning the favor to Kurt Angle.  Jason is good with that, he is ready to compete, but you have to admit, he’s a very good replacement for Dean Ambrose.  Rollins said he will never be Dean Ambrose, and Jason said he is better.

Match Number 8:  Braun Strowman Vs The Miztourage in a Secret Santa Match

Braun takes care of both men, and pins Bo after a Running Powerslam.

Winner:  Braun Strowman, by pinfall

Braun nails 3 more Running Powerslams.

Next:  Alexa Bliss

In-Ring Promo:  Alexa Bliss

This year, she decided to melt the coal of our stuffings and give us a special gift, the gift of a goddess.  She knows the WWE Universe love to gobble up cookies, and talk about boring stories.  But Alexa Bliss says 2017 is the year of Alexa Bliss.  She is like a freaking Jedi from Star Wars.  She did it without us, she can do it again.  The moment of the year happened last week, when Stephanie McMahon announced the Women’s Royal Rumble match.  She has watched that 1 million times, and still gets cold chills.  So she wants to tell the women in the back, the fans, you’re welcome.  Because of every tear, of every moment, it is because of Alexa Bliss.  She will be watching to see who wins the Women’s Royal Rumble match, because….

Asuka comes out.  Asuka is entering the Women’s Royal Rumble match, and she will win.  Because nobody is ready for Asuka.  An Asuka kick to the head, for good measure.

Next:  Raw Tag Team Title Match

Next Week:  Brock Lesnar Returns

Match Number 9 The Bar (Raw Tag Champs) Vs Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan, for the Raw Tag Team Championship

History was made here with NEW Tag Team Champions, Jason Jordan proved his worth, nailing his Belly to Back Suplex, into a Neckbreaker, pinning Cesaro for the win.  A good match here that left 2017 in a good taste.

Winners, and NEW Raw Tag Team Champions:  Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I was thinking this would be a dud show, but I was glad I was wrong.  3 big matches, that featured some of the young rising stars in WWE.  Cena Vs Elias was very good, and it set the tone for the entire show.  Joe Vs Reigns was a fight, and I want to see more fights between these two, and the main event had a good ending, with Jason Jordan holding his own.  2017 ended very well with Raw.  What were your thoughts on the show?  I want to wish a very Merry Christmas you, and a very Happy Holidays.  Thank you so much for checking us out tonight.
