WWE Clash of Champions Live From Boston, Massachusetts

Sunday, December 17th, 2017

Commentators:  Todd Phillips, Byron Saxton, and Corey Graves

If you missed this past week’s Smackdown Live, click here WWE Smackdown Live Full Results 12/12/17 (Nakamura Vs Owens)

Match Number 1:  Baron Corbin (US Champ) Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Bobby Roode for the United States Championship in a Triple Threat Match

The veteran Dolph Ziggler picks up the victory, and becomes the NEW United States Champion, when Corbin tries to hit End of Days, and Ziggler hits a Zig Zag on Corbin, to win his 2nd United States Title.  Big upset here, pinning Corbin.

Winner, and NEW United States Champion:  Dolph Ziggler, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon

Shane did not like this decision Daniel made.  Shane discusses the last few weeks of Daniel changing the plans he had for Kevin and Sami.  Daniel is just trying to do the right thing.  They will both be inside the ring at the same time.

Backstage Interview:  Baron Corbin

Dasha talks to Baron about squandering his opportunities, and Baron said Ziggler stole his championship, and he will get it back.

Match Number 2:  The Usos (SD Live Tag Team Champs) Vs Rusev and Aidan English Vs Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable Vs The New Day in a Fatal 4-Way Match for SD Live Tag Team Championship

4 men in the ring at the same time.  The crowd was truly behind Rusev, with some Rusev chants going on in the TD Garden.  Chad Gable suplex everyone, after Rusev tried to get Big E to tap out to The Accolade, but the Brothers Uso, hit some double team moves, and won the match with their Top Rope Splash.  The Usos retained.

Winners, and STILL SD Live Tag Team Champions:  The Usos, by pinfall

Match Number 3:  Charlotte Flair (SD Live Women’s Champ) Vs Natalya in a Lumberjack Match

This was a bit of a mess with all of the women involved.  Carmella had thoughts about cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase, but The Riott Squad stopped that, and all of the women were outside fighting, while Charlotte pulled off her Moonsault on the women.  Natalya thought she had set up a Sharpshooter, but Charlotte played possum, and turned it into the Figure 8, to make Natalya tap out.

Winner, and STILL Women’s SD Live Champion:  Charlotte, by submission

Natalya is cornered by Kayla Braxton, and Natalya tells us Charlotte won, because she used her family’s names.  She has given the WWE Universe the best women matches for 10 years, and we have all treated her with disrespect.  The WWE Universe wants to turn their backs on Natalya?  The women want to turn their backs on her?  She is turning her back on all of us.  And now she cries.

Backstage Interview:  Jinder Mahal

Dasha wants a word from the challenger, but The Singh Brothers tell us he is in meditation, and they share us comments AJ Styles made earlier tonight.  They laugh at that, are very confident “The Modern Day Maharaja” will become 2-time WWE Champion.

Match Number 4:  The Bludgeon Brothers Vs Breezango

Match is done, The Bludgeon Brothers pick up a squash victory.

Winners:  The Bludgeon Brothers, by pinfall

Backstage Interview:  Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

Daniel Bryan is the only good thing about Smackdown Live, and they will do whatever they can do to win.  But Dasha asks what would happen if they lose?  They walk away.

Match Number 5:  Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Vs Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura, with Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan as Special Guest Refs, if Owens and Zayn lose, they are fired

This was a mess, more about the 2 refs disagreeing than the actual match itself.  Shane used emotion over this, and questioned anything Daniel tried to do.  Orton nails Sami with a RKO, but Owens shoves Daniel into Shane and stop the count.  When Sami pinned Randy, Shane refused to count the 3, and this makes Daniel upset, that when Sami rolls up Orton, Daniel does a fast count for the win.

Winners:  Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, by pinfall

Match Number 6:  AJ Styles (WWE Champ) Vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship

This was a good match with AJ retaining the WWE Championship, giving The Singh Brothers Style Clashes, and made Jinder tap out to Calf Crusher, ending the show.

Winner, and STILL WWE Champion:  AJ Styles, by submission

Kevin’s Thoughts:

There were some good parts, and some bad parts to the show.  I wasn’t a fan of the women’s match and the tag match.  Too much interference, with the lumberjacks, and the referees.  Everything else was good though.  The right people won their matches.  Now the build to Royal Rumble begins.  Send me your thoughts to the show here.

Clash of Champions Kick-Off Panel

Sunday, December 17th, 2017

Commentators:  Renee Young, David Otunga, and Sam Roberts

This is the last PPV of 2017, and we are going over the card.  Can Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon call things down the middle of our main event tag match?

Kayla Braxton is with us, with tonight’s guests being The New Day.

Video:  WWE Championship Match, Jinder Mahal Vs AJ Styles

Backstage Interview:  AJ Styles

Dasha is with the WWE Champion, is he concerned about tonight’s match?  AJ knew The Singh Brothers were lying, but he never should have taken his eyes off Jinder.  He is prepared for everything, including The Great Khali coming from the commentating table.  He has to be better than great, he has to be phenomenal.

WWE Clash of Champions Kick-Off Match:  Zack Ryder Vs Mojo Rawley

Preview:  United States Title Triple Threat

Can Bobby Roode get that big victory tonight?  Can he build his WWE legacy tonight?

Tonight:  The Bludgeon Brothers Vs Breezango

Tonight:  Women’s Championship Lumberjack Match

Backstage Interview:  Naomi

Naomi is back, and she seems to be the only ally for Charlotte Flair, does that make tonight’s Women’s Title match at a disadvantage?  Naomi talks about how they have felt disadvantages in the past, but now these rookies think they will make names of themselves at their expense.  If they get in her way, they will feel her glow.  Lana, Tamina, and Carmella come over to make a pact, if she doesn’t cross them, they won’t cross her way too.  But The Riott Squad come in now, and all 7 women have words.

Video:  Charlotte Flair Vs Natalya

Charlotte Flair joins the panel now.  She is facing Natalya, but every woman in the locker room will be at ringside, including Carmella, Ms. Money in the Bank.  Charlotte talks about the history of she and Natalya, but now you add Carmella to that, and she can be her biggest threat.  But the Riott Squad work in numbers.  Natalya shows up now.  She loves to see that championship and says this is the last time she goes through TSA with the championship.  Its coming home to Mommy.

Social Media Lounge:  The New Day

Will The New Day becoming 5-time Tag Team Champions be a great Christmas gift for New Day?  Big E talks about its been 5 years ago today since he made his WWE debut, slamming John Cena.  What would their strategy be for tonight’s match?  They won’t share that message.  We are ready for tonight’s Fatal 4-Way to the Tag Team Titles.

Tonight:  The Usos Vs The New Day Vs Benjamin and Gable Vs English and Rusev

This is all Mojo’s promo work, and it’s fantastic.  I can’t wait to see this match, and it’s because of Mojo’s hype work for this match.

WWE Clash of Champions Kick-Off match:  Mojo Rawley Vs Zack Ryder

I love this new Mojo Rawley, he trash talked Zack throughout this match, and while Zack fought back, Mojo nails a vicious forearm to Zack, for the win.

Winner:  Mojo Rawley, by pinfall

Video:  Owens and Zayn Vs Orton and Nakamura

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon are the special guest referees.  So if we lose Owens and Zayn, where do we go from here?
