In-Ring Promo:  Roman Reigns

I guess it’s no surprise, last week was a big week for Roman.  Many things happened, The Shield were reunited, they went to Survivor Series, and took care of Smackdown’s New Day.  Then last week on Raw, Roman had an opportunity.  Its been a long time, and many weeks of back to back, he thanks the fans for supporting him.  But he is the new Intercontinental Champion, and The Miz cried about it.

Video:  Last Week After Raw

The Shield took out The Miz, through a table, with a Triple Powerbomb.

So we won’t see The Miz for a while, but we will see a lot of the Intercontinental Championship.  The Miz runs his mouth, but one thing he is right about is this title is prestigious, and for as long as he holds the title, he will make sure it is the biggest title in the world.  So you know the rules, this is his yard, and if anyone wants it, just come and take it.

AWESOME!!

The Miztourage come out, and say how dare you keep disrespecting The Miz.  Now they put them in no position for revenge, but this person can.

Hello, my name is Elias.  Now keep holding your applause, he will be performing later tonight.  Now The Miz is a good guy, and he saw these two flounder away after he took their leader away, so tonight, he will take Roman’s Intercontinental Title.  It looks like Elias wants to run with the Big Dog.  You got it, but take a look at Curtis Axel, because after tonight, you might have to play the guitar with a neck brace.

Enter Seth Rollins

Next:  Rollins Vs Cesaro

Tonight:  6-Women Tag Match

Match Number 1:  Cesaro (Raw Tag Champ) Vs Seth Rollins

Ambrose was on his honeymoon with Renee Young, congrats to both.  And Sheamus was on a sabbatical in Ireland, so this was a one on one match.  Seth picks up the win with a knee to the head, pinning Cesaro.

Winner:  Seth Rollins, by pinfall

Charly Caruso asks Seth with Dean not here, and Roman winning the IC Title, does this mean The Shield will be going their separate ways?  No way, this will bring us closer together.  Dean will be back next week, and Sheamus will too, so it would be the right time to invoke their Tag Team Title rematch clause.  So next week, they will burn The Bar down, and they will be one step closer to having championships around The Shield.

Tonight:  Reigns Vs Elias, for IC Title

Last Week:  205 Live

Backstage Segment:  205 Live Crew

Swann, Alexander, Tazawa, and Ali are complaining about last week with Zo Train took over.  Kurt tells us in 3 weeks, we will find out who faces Enzo.  Tonight we have a Fatal 4-Way, next week, another Fatal 4-Way, with the two winners facing off, and the winner of that faces Enzo for the Cruiserweight Title.

Next:  Samoa Joe

Match Number 2:  Samoa Joe Vs Titus O’ Neil

Titus fights, gives it everything he had, but Joe had more.  He nails the Koquina Clutch, and made Titus tap out.

Winner:  Samoa Joe, by submission

Apollo Crews has some words to say to Joe, but Joe slaps on the Koquina Clutch, and told Apollo to shut up.

Next:  6-Women Tag Match

Last Week:  Paige Returns With Friends

Match Number 3:  Mickie James, Bayley, and Sasha Banks Vs Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya DeVille

No Mickie James or Bayley, we get to see the return of Paige and her friends.  We see Paige, Sonya, and Mandy attacked Mickie and Bayley from behind backstage, neither one can compete.  Paige has some words first, she has been hounded everywhere, asking to explain her actions.  A year ago, she was the woman who stuck the flag in the ground and erased the word diva from the dictionary.  She was the matriarch of the Women’s Revolution.  She made a statement of who she was, and she is back.  Paige calls her group Absolution.  Mandy brings up before there was a “Boss” and before there was a Four Horsewomen, or a “Goddess” or an “Empress, there was a Paige.  But they did not forget says Mandy.  Every woman has pushed a button, and every woman has raised the game, but the truth is nothing would have been raised, without Paige.  And that is why they have pledged their allegiance to Paige.  So Paige asks if she is going to have the same fate as her friends, or will she do the right thing, and pledge her allegiance to Paige.  Sasha Banks, you’re either with them or against them.  Sasha nails Paige, and the numbers game catches up to Sasha.  Sonya gives Sasha her kick, Mandy gives Sasha a Double Underhook Slam, and a RamPaige by Paige.  Absolution has spoken.

Winners:  No Contest

Tonight:  Reigns Vs Elias, Intercontinental Title

Backstage Promo:  Bray Wyatt

I’m here

In-Ring Promo:  Bray Wyatt

I have never had a childhood, I never celebrated the holidays,.  I never carved a turkey, and I never cared.  But not you, you cared, you carved a turkey, and you celebrated everything they told you what to do.  Now follow me here, because you live in a cardboard box, because they tell you who to cheer, they tell you who to love, they tell you what to do, and he tried.  He tried to tell us, but we never listened to him, and now he loves to see us suffering, he loves to see us in despair.  You are all dead, can’t you see it?  You’re all dead, you’re all dead.

Match Number 4:  Bray Wyatt Vs Matt Hardy

This felt like a squash match here, Hardy did not get much offense, Bray wins with Sister Abigail.

Winner:  Bray Wyatt, by pinfall

Matt gets the Hardy chants, and we might get the “Broken” Matt Hardy, Matt keeps doing the Delete chants, and the announcers are no-selling it.  Cole just called it “The Matt Hardy Breakdown”, so is that what they are calling it?

Tonight:  Elias Vs Reigns

Video:  Last Monday:  Kane Vs Braun Strowman

Backstage Segment:  Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle

Jason was looking forward to his rematch against Braun, but now it isn’t going to happen.  Kurt asks how Jason’s knee is?  Everyone on Social media is doubting about Jason’s knee, and feels he ran away from Braun.  But Kurt isn’t thinking that, and what better way to avenge what happened to Braun, by going after the man who took him out?  Okay, yeah.

Match Number 5:  Rich Swann Vs Akira Tozawa Vs Ariya Daivari Vs Noam Dar in a Fatal 4-Way to Determine Number One Contender to Cruiserweight Title

Rich Swann moves on to the next round, pinning Noam Dar, with the Phoenix Splash.  In 2 weeks, he faces the winner of next week’s Fatal 4-Way.

Winner, and advances to next round:  Rich Swann, by pinfall

Next:  Roman Reigns Vs Elias

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Hello, I am Elias….and I have a question for everyone here tonight, who wants to walk with Elias?  Something has been on his mind, The Miz is not here tonight.  He hopes he is healing up, spending time with his beautiful wife, and baby to be, and he has a little song for him now.  He needs us to shut our mouths, and turn off our cellphones.  He won’t sing a song for us, if that is how we will be.  We deserve a song.  :::Since The Miz has been gone, The Miztourage hasn’t slept:::  He tells The Miztourage to follow Elias, and he’ll guide them.  Usually, he is a one-man show, but he is going to do something special tonight, calls for The Miztourage.  They come out with the harmonicas, which is GOLD!!  Who knew they could play those things, they were great.  So take a bow.  Another guitar solo for Elias.  Miztourage, and the crowd chants for Roman.  Right now, nobody wants Roman more than him, so right now, he needs Miztourage to take a seat.  We will tune in for his next performance, when the Intercontinental Title walks with Elias.

Match Number 6:  Roman Reigns (IC Champ) Vs Elias, for the Intercontinental Championship

Reigns retains his championship, but this was a good match between the two.  Elias may have broken through the other side.  Roman gave Elias a Superman Punch, which Elias kicked out of, but Roman nails a spear, and retains his championship.

Winner, and STILL Intercontinental Champion:  Roman Reigns, by pinfall

Samoa Joe attacks Reigns from behind, gives him the Koquina Clutch, and makes Reigns pass out.  Joe warns Roman he is coming for him.  I’d love to see that match.

Tonight:  Jason Jordan Vs Kane

Moments Ago:  Joe Attacks Reigns

Match Number 7:  Asuka Vs Dana Brooke

Dana thinks Asuka is a slow starter, so you better blink or you’ll miss.  But then Asuka nails an Asuka Lock, and Dana taps out early.

Winner:  Asuka, by submission

Absolution comes out, surrounds the ring, Asuka smiles, and heads out of the ring.  What was the message?

Next Week:  Tag Team Championship The Shield Vs The Bar

In-Ring Promo:  Jason Jordan

Social Media has been dogging him all week, saying he tried to run away from Braun Strowman.  He is a professional athlete, he knows his body.  When he tried to suplex Braun last week, he could hear a pop in his knee.  But after the great medical staff of WWE, and a week of rehab, he is ready to do what Braun Strowman couldn’t do, and that is to shut Kane up.

Match Number 8:  Jason Jordan Vs Kane

Jason tried to fight, he landed on his knee, couldn’t answer the count, and lost the match.

Winner:  Kane, by Countout

But we aren’t done here.  Jason tries to fight back, but Kane takes over.  His knee gives him problems, and here comes Finn Balor.

Match Number 9:  Kane Vs Finn Balor

And just like that, Kane is DQ’d because he uses a chair.

Winner:  Finn Balor, by DQ

Kane continues to use the chair, and nobody comes out to stop him.  Kane puts a chair on Finn’s neck, and out comes Strowman.  Kane uses a chair shot, and Braun laughs it off, now he goes right after Kane.  Braun picks Kane up with a Powerslam right into the steps, and now he uses the chair and puts it around Kane’s neck, and slams it onto the step, just like Kane had done to him last week.  He does it again for the second time.  Kane walks away from Braun, and heads out through the crowd.  We end the show with Braun standing tall, and proud.

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I was looking forward to this show, and it was a big let down.  I have no clue where to start, so I’ll just say, I hated the main event.  But I did love Jason Jordan’s promo, he are slowly turning heel, but Kurt is made to look like a fool, and why in the hell did the ref not do a damn thing when Kane used the chair on Balor?  HHe just calmly watched Kane keep nailing the chair on Balor.  And this is what I remember on the show.

Three good things though was their match between Rollins Vs Cesaro, everything that had to do with Elias, including his concert, and his match with Reigns, and The reasoning behind Absolution.  People forgot all about Paige, but she is still here, dammit, and it’s still her house.  AHHHHHHHHH

But everything else was either very bad, or boring.  And that includes the ending with Braun doing the same thing to Kane.  Just put them in a Last Man Standing match already, and let them hurt each other.  The real main event should have been the IC Championship.  What were your thoughts?  You agree?  Disagree?  Catch me on Twitter with @RingsideseatsFR and @kevingillman.  Look forward to hearing from you.  But if you missed this week’s Raw, you can skip it.
