Commentators:  Michael Cole, Booker T, and Corey Graves

If you missed last week’s Smackdown Live, click here WWE Smackdown Live 10/17/17 Full Results (Ziggler Vs Roode)

Match Number 1:  Asuka Vs Emma

They gave Emma a bit more offense than I thought, which worked for her.  Asuka picks up her win with Asuka Lock.  Her entrance was awesome too.

Winner:  Asuka, by submission

Backstage Segment:  The Miz and The Bar

The Miz tells Sheamus and Cesaro the plans have changed, because Kurt stepped in because he only cares about himself.  He waited for the perfect moment to put himself in the main event against The Miz.  Well that won’t happen, because Miz will take care of Angle, and if he wants to be a superhero, he has the perfect monster…Braun Strowman.  Save the pep talk Miz, Braun is here to sniff out Kurt’s return, and nobody better get in his way, including them.  Kane shows up, and says he does what he wants to do.  Miz gives them a pep talk, about how they have a chance to take out the superstars, and together, they can run Raw.  Braun will take care of his own, and Kane leaves by saying he takes out anyone he wants.  But The Bar is down with this, they give us The Shield hand gesture.

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Who wants to run with Elias?  Judging by the fans response, they aren’t alive, but Elias can fix that.  So hold the cameras, open up your eyes, and shut your mouths, because Elias has a song to sing.

Someone throws some vegetables on the stage, and it’s Jason Jordan.  Elias is not amused.  We are denied the concert.

Match Number 2:  Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann Vs THE Brian Kendrick and “Gentleman” Jack Gallagher

This was a short match, but had a good finish.  All four men hit their moves, but Alexander nails a Lumbar Check on Kendrick, and pins him for the win.

Winners:  Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann, by pinfall

Backstage Interview:  Alexa Bliss

Charly is with Alexa Bliss, she gets it, Mickie dedicated her match to her little boy.  And Alexa was a fan of Mickie’s when she was a kid, she brought her back to WWE, but that was her better days.  And after tonight, they won’t be better, they will just be old.

Match Number 3:  Alexa Bliss (Raw Women’s Champ) Vs Mickie James for the Raw Women’s Championship

Mickie was ready for a fight, a bit slow-paced here, but Alexa played possum when Mickie tried to come at Alexa, throws Mickie into the post, and nails a DDT for the win, and retains her Women’s Title.

Winner, and STILL Raw Women’s Champion:  Alexa Bliss, by pinfall

Charly interviews Mickie right away, she says she is disappointed she did not win, but she hopes she proved she belongs in the ring fighting for the Raw Women’s Championship, but she also deserves another shot down the road.  She thanks the WWE Universe for their support.

Backstage Segment:  Kurt Angle and The Shield

Kurt tries to explain why he is involved in this match tonight.  He doesn’t know what he has in him, but he knows he will give it 100%.  Rollins tells Kurt they know that, they just want to give him his colors….The Shield black vest.  If you’re in, you have to be in all the way.  Kurt is in.

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Elias is back to give us his song, the crowd is booing this and Elias has to start over.  This is hilarious.  He tells the crowd he can’t hear himself, so they need to hold their applause while he sings.  More vegetables, Jason Jordan is back.

Match Number 4:  Kalisto (WWE Cruiserweight Champ) Vs Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

This was what you expect here, Enzo did whatever he could to win the match, he used the turnbuckle on Kalisto, then pulled the apron back, when the ref had his back to the action, Enzo put his thumb to the eye of Kalisto, and nailed a JawdonZo for the win, and Enzo is now a 2-time Cruiserweight Champion.

Winner, and NEW WWE Cruiserweight Champion:  Enzo Amore, by pinfall

Charly wants some words from the new champ, and Enzo has to thank him, he has to thank himself, and we are nothing.

Match Number 5:  “The Demon” Finn Balor Vs AJ Styles In A Dream Match

What a match this was, an absolute classic, back and forth action here that gave us everything a fan can ask for.  “The Demon” wins the match with a Coup De Grace, after AJ missed his 450 splash.  I can see this match again next month, since Survivor Series will be Raw Vs Smackdown Live.

Winner:  “The Demon” Finn Balor, by pinfall

Balor helps AJ get back to his feet, and the two men gave us a “2 Sweet” hand signal.  Awesome.

In-Ring Concert:  Elias

Elias has a match set for Jason Jordan, but before he gives us a song, Jason comes out.

Match Number 6:  Jason Jordan Vs Elias

This was a mess, the crowd could care less, and Vince continues to do this, put a match nobody cares into the two co-main events.  It does anybody any good, just give us the 2 big matches.  Jordan wins, but Elias had his arm up, the ref seemed to count fast.  Just a mess.

Winner:  Jason Jordan, by pinfall

Match Number 7:  The Shield (Raw Tag Team Champs) and Kurt Angle Vs The Miz (IC Champ), The Bar, Kane, and Braun Strowman in a 5-on-3 Handicap TLC Match

Kurt comes through the crowd with The Shield and the match begins on fire.  But the numbers game catches up, and Braun takes out Kurt by putting him through a table.  The 5 men take over on Ambrose and Rollins, and was playing ping-pong, but Kane and Braun start to fight.  Kane accidentally nails Braun with a chair, so they fighting spirit of Ambrose and Rollins continues, but they bring out a garbage truck, tries to put both Rollins and Ambrose in, but fail.  While things were going their way, Kane goes right after Braun, chokeslams him through another table, then throws chairs all over Braun.  BRAUN STROWMAN IS DEAD!!!!  But he comes back from the dead, and goes right after Kane.  But the heels help Kane, and go right after Braun, even putting him into the garbage truck, and sends him away.  Just when they nail Rollins with a Triple Powerbomb, Ambrose comes out of nowhere to get the save.  Now we get Kurt Angle’s music, and entrance, and here he comes.  He gives The Bar 3 Angle Slams, and put them both through tables, goes right after Kane, and we see Ambrose and Rollins take out Kane and with a SPEAR THROUGH THE BARRICADE!!  Now they have Miz set up with a kick to he head, Dirty Deeds, Angle Slam, and a TRIPLE POWERBOMB for good measure.  Angle pins Miz, and the match ends.  Kurt looked very good, those German Suplexes he gave were crisp, and the layout of this match was AWESOME!!  Everything about this worked, and we end the show with all three men standing victorious.

Winners:  Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

The show was loaded going in with The Shield reuniting, but when sickness took over and Roman missed the match, they really pulled this off.  Kurt Angle returning to the ring was awesome.  Now I want to see why Kane turned on Braun tomorrow night.  I also want to see how they set up The Survivor Series, and what about Balor Vs Styles?  Can they give us a rematch?  Just an incredible match, we get a dream match taken care of, and there should be more in store down the road.  Asuka debuting too was awesome.  Her entrance makes her a major superstar, and Emma was the right opponent.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Send them to me here, and I will talk to you tomorrow night for Raw.

WWE TLC Kick-Off Show

Sunday, October 22nd, 2017

Panelists:  Renee Young, Peter Rosenberg, and David Otunga

Breaking News:  Reigns and Bray out of TLC PPV, AJ Styles and Kurt Angle are in.

Interview:  The Miz

Renee asks Miz the pointed question of where we go from here.  Miz talks about the GM is trying to steal his spotlight again.  The biggest news isn’t Kurt Angle returning, it’s the fact he and his wife are expecting a little girl.  Kurt and The Shield aren’t going into the ring with just any 5 superstars.  He is going to face a monster in Braun Strowman.  The best tag team in the world in Cesaro and Sheamus, a veteran like Kane, and the greatest IC Champion of all-time, The Miz.  Otunga believes this is personal, and Miz tells him that tomorrow night, after Miz defeats his team, he wants Kurt to shake his hand, and say he was the better man, no hard feelings.  He will do whatever it takes to win.

Breaking News:  AJ Styles Vs Finn Balor, TONIGHT!!

Social Media Lounge:  Mickie James

Mickie is looking to win her 7th Women’s Title run, later tonight.

Is Emma focused too much on social trends?

Backstage Segment:  Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan

Jason is checking on Kurt to see how he feels going in tonight.  Elias chimes in, he wants his chance to do a musical performance tonight, Kurt says you can have it, just give them their time together.  Jason mocks Elias saying he “saved” the PPV, and Elias chimes in at least he is on the PPV.

Tonight:  Kalisto Vs Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Title

Drew Gulak interrupts the panel, and tells us his segment tonight has been cut.  He will not be broken, he believes in a better 205 Live.  He believes in a better Cruiserweight Division.  They can work on less flying, less dazzling costumes, a better top rope, a better middle rope.

Next:  Social Media Lounge

Video:  Alexa Bliss Vs Mickie James

Social Media Lounge:  Mickie James

Mickie is here to make it a lucky number 7.  How does she feel going into her match?  Mickie is ready, and excited for the match.  The questions are how does it feel to possibly make it a 7-time Women’s Champion?  She is honored to have the chance to be only the second woman to win the title 7 times.  Is age catching up to you?  Mickie doesn’t feel that way, there are many superstars who are older, or are her same age.  Fabulous Moolah is the oldest Women’s Champion, so she feels she can do that.  If she wins the title, what is she going to do to the Women’s Division?  She will take Alexa’s name off the title, do some photo shoots, and kiss her son Donovan tomorrow morning.

Tonight:  AJ Styles Vs “The Demon” Finn Balor

Backstage Interview:  AJ Styles

AJ traveled about 18 hours to face “The Demon” tonight, and he is looking forward to this.  David asks how important is this match to AJ?  The entire world wants to see, and he wants to show the world what they can do.  Is he prepared for the match?  AJ is always prepared to face anyone, and everyone.  He will face “The Demon”, so what is his strategy?  To not take anyone for granted, and he heard “The Demon” is undefeated in WWE, well he will have the honor to beat that streak.

PPV Rundown

WWE TLC Kickoff Match Number 1:  Sasha Banks Vs Alicia Fox

Booker actually made a reference that Alicia Fox reminds him of The Missing Link.  One moment she is crazy, next moment, she pulls off a technical move.  Sasha makes Alicia tap out to The Bank Statement.

Winner:  Sasha Banks, by submission

Video:  Kurt Angle’s WWE in-ring return

Backstage Interview:  Rollins and Ambrose

How excited are they to be teaming up with a WWE legend?  They are prepared for war, with Seth saying he never thought he would team up with Kurt.  Seth says they have something up their sleeve, but they won’t bring it up here.  Kurt better bring everything he has in him teaming up with them.  Dean and Seth are ready, and so are we.
