Tonight:  Orton and Nakamura Vs Mahal and Rusev

In-Ring Promo:  Jinder Mahal

In tonight’s main event, I will show my superior skills, as I team up with Rusev and take on two of his biggest rivals.  Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.  But for now, we need to understand what it is like to walk in “The Modern Day Maharaja”, as he goes across the continent, he is show disrespect.  Every time he walks in an airport, or walk into a hotel, he is shown with this disrespect, this disdain, as he should be revered as your WWE Champion.  Your WWE Champion.  All of us point our finger, and we laugh, ever since he was made out to look like a fool by Shinsuke Nakamura.  He is the WWE Champion, so now who should be taken punishment by this disrespect?  The Singh Brothers ask for forgiveness for what they did the last week.  They let him down, they let down the millions in India, and they want to apologize to their family.  But most of all, they want to apologize to “The Modern Day Maharaja”, and to apologize due to their lack of talent to have Nakamura touch you.  They don’t deserve the champion, and on behalf of the great nation of India, they want to publicly kiss his royal feet.

Before the Singh Brothers could show that devotion, here comes Nakamura.  Shinsuke just shoves The Singh Brothers, and the two men start to fight, but the servants helped Mahal get the best of Nakamura, but here comes Orton.  Now comes Rusev, who lays out Orton.  The Khallas on Nakamura.

Tonight, Orton and Shinsuke Vs Mahal and Rusev.

Tonight:  AJ Styles United States Open Challenge

Next:  Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in action

Next Week:  Orton Vs Nakamura, Winner Receives WWE Title Shot

Match Number 1:  Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin Vs The Ascension

This was a fun match here, Benjamin and Gable win their debut match together, when Shelton pins Viktor, with a rolling DDT.  A nice way to begin this tag team run.

Winners:  Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin

Tonight:  New Day Vs The Usos, winner chooses stipulation of title match.

Next:  AJ Styles US Title Open Challenge

Backstage Interview:  Baron Corbin

Renee Young has Baron backstage, she wants to discuss the missed opportunity 2 weeks ago.  Baron said that John Cena ran away, so he couldn’t right a wrong.  That’s fine though, a new beginning for him.  AJ Styles has an open challenge, and you are looking at the next United States Champion.

In-Ring Promo:  AJ Styles

Last week, AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens, and now he won’t get another US Title for as long as AJ is the champ.  So a new superstar gets a chance at the United States Championship, and it starts right now.

Match Number 2:  AJ Styles (US Champ) Vs Tye Dillinger, for the United States Championship

Tye beat Baron to the race it seems.  Baron shows up, and shoves Tye for even coming out, but Dillinger fights back, and when the bell sounds off, it’s Tye.  AJ ends the match very shortly with the Calf Crusher.

Winner, and STILL US Champion:  AJ Styles, by submission

Corbin comes right back in the ring, but AJ counters, and nails a Pele kick to send Corbin out of the ring.

Backstage Segment:  Rusev and Jinder

Jinder tries to buddy up with Rusev, but Rusev makes it simple, tonight is not about being friends, it’s about getting revenge.  Rusev came to Smackdown Live so he can become WWE Champion.  And after they win, he will be coming after the WWE Championship.

Next:  Bobby Roode

Match Number 3:  Bobby Roode Vs Mike Kanellis

Roode was GLORIOUS!!  He wins the match with a Glorious DDT.  Kanellis is now a jobber, doesn’t even get his entrance.

Winner:  Bobby Roode, by pinfall

Next:  Kevin Owens

In-Ring Promo:  Kevin Owens

Kevin came out to interrupt Aidan English singing, and tells him to leave.  But he did it in such a nice way.  He doesn’t appreciate last week where he and Shane McMahon had an agreement, who Kevin can choose to be his referee against AJ Styles, but you know who he didn’t pick?  Shane McMahon, and we see footage where Shane came out to count the pinfall of Styles beating Owens.  Let me ask you this, what makes Shane the right to put his hands on the referee of the match?  Baron Corbin was doing a great job too, and he was supposed to make it fair?  Just a year ago was the greatest day of Kevin Owens’ career when he became the new Universal Champion.  And 365 days later, he has no championship.  But you know, this wouldn’t happen if he was on Raw, and Stephanie McMahon would run things fairly.  But this isn’t Raw, this is Smackdown Live, “The Land of Opportunity” and this is Shane McMahon’s personal playground.

Here comes the money…..Here comes the money.

And there is Shane McMahon, taking the thunder away from the true superstars.  What’s up Arkansas, but Shane reminds Owens what happened last week.  He chose Baron Corbin, who was doing a bad job, and he left, now Shane had the referee shirt, so he took it upon himself to put the shirt on, and act accordingly.  Kevin lost, so he does not get another United States Title match.  Kevin did not lose, he was screwed.  Shane said he can call it anyway he wants, but he doesn’t have time for this.  So Aidan English has a match with this man….

Match Number 4:  Sami Zayn Vs Aidan English

Well, Owens joined the commentary, and he couldn’t focus on the commentary.  He wanted to show the world that he is a better referee than anyone in WWE, so he runs and steals the ref’s shirt.  And Sami is taken back by this.  Owens gives him the Pop-Up Powerbomb, and orders Aidan to cover, and he does.

Winner:  Aidan English, by pinfall

Next Week:  Shinsuke Vs Orton

Tonight:  Nakamura and Orton Vs Mahal and Rusev

Next:  The Usos Vs The New Day

Moments Ago:  Kevin Owens Being A Ref

Backstage Interview:  Shane McMahon

Renee wants to get Shane’s word on this, he is not happy.  The match does not count, and he needs to go have a word with Kevin Owens.

Backstage Interview:  Dolph Ziggler

Dasha is with Dolph Ziggler, he talks about having a change, but it’s bigger than Arkansas.  What reflected this change?  Ziggler has been with this company for 10 years, wrestles the best matches, and he gets nothing for it.  So maybe he can needs a sequined robe?  Or how about Raw, when they flash a spotlight, and Ziggler can play a guitar?  Or doss some paint all over his face, like Finn Balor?  Or he can be a superhero?  So that is what we will get, he has worked for 10 years, and has nothing to show for it, so we will see that change next week.

Match Number 5:  The Usos (SD Live Tag Champs) Vs New Day in a non-title match, winner chooses stipulation

The Usos win this match, holding on to Kofi’s tights for the win.  So they choose the stipulation.

Winners:  The Usos, by pinfall

Backstage Interview:  Carmella

Ellsworth takes the mic, and asks Carmella what her thoughts are for her Money in the Bank briefcase.  Carmella is upset that Ellsworth stooge out her plans to cash in her briefcase.  Ellsworth might, or might not have stolen those flowers he sent from a funeral home.  Natalya shows up, she tells Carmella she is lucky Ellsworth snitches her out, because if she cashes in her briefcase against Natalya, she will turn her into “Baron Corbin” of the women division.  Natalya tells Carmella she they have a match against each other next week.  Carmella tells her to keep that title shined up.  Naomi laughs about this, saying Nattie has a tough 2 weeks ahead for her, because in 2 weeks, they will have their Women’s Title rematch.

Tonight:  Orton and Nakamura Vs Mahal and Rusev

Next:  Season 2 Premiere of Fashion Files

Match Number 6:  Tamina Vs Tina Stockton

Tamina started off as normal as she can be, but Lana tells Tamina to CRUSH HER, and she did, giving Tina a Superkick.  And after the match, she sent Tina through the ropes, and now we have camera crew taking pictures.

Winner:  Tamina, by pinfall

Video:  Fashion Files

Another hidden clue, 2 Be or not 2 Be, Shakespeare, who can it be?  English?  English?  Aidan English.  Good call, but what does it mean?  2 B Continued.

Next:  Nakamura/Orton Vs Mahal/Rusev

Match Number 7:  Jinder Mahal (WWE Champ) and Rusev Vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton

Orton and Nakamura pick up with the win with a knee strike by Nakamura, and a Kinsasha, pinning Rusev.  And Orton nails a RKO on Nakamura out of nowhere, to set up next week’s match, and this ends the show.

Winners:  Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

I loved Shelton Benjamin’s return to WWE.  I liked The Fashion Files, I even liked the ending of our main event.  But the issue here is we don’t get a SD Live PPV until October, so we have too much filler here.  Nothing seemed to set up Hell in a Cell, and they were building up next week’s show even more than tonight’s show.  That is all you need to know about how they felt about tonight’s show.  What were your thoughts?  Do you agree?  Sound off.
