Video:  The Authors of Pain Vs SAnitY

Former NXT World Champion Big E joins the panel.  He defeated Seth Rollins in 2013.  NXT prepares you to get to WWE.  Big E shares his thoughts on the Tag Team Title match.  Big E is going with Authors of Pain.

Backstage Interview:  Shinsuke Nakamura

Renee Young has “The Superstar”, who is ready for tomorrow night’s WWE Title match at Summerslam.  Shinsuke is going with Drew McIntyre to win tonight.

Another former NXT Champion, Neville joins the panel.  He has a Cruiserweight Title match set at Summerslam.  Neville is focused on tomorrow’s match.  He has been counting the hours, and this is Christmas Eve for the “King of the Cruiserweights”, we can expect the same thing he has done for the last 8 months with 205 Live, and that is domination.  NXT was a part of his journey.  But sometimes it is tough to look back at NXT without some of resentment.  It built him for success, but when he got into WWE, he didn’t get the success he was looking for.  Corey and Neville were former Tag Team Champions, and he helped build NXT.  But he saw his time in NXT as a boy who had plenty to learn.  Now we see a man who knows what it takes to learn.  Corey wants Neville’s thoughts about Itami Vs Black tonight.  He is just looking forward to watching both men knock each other’s block off.  Hideo needs to be ready for Aleister Black’s striking offense.  Corey wants to hear Neville’s thoughts about Gargano Vs Almas match.  Johnny is coming back after being betrayed by his best friend and partner, he can relate to that, since Corey betrayed Neville in NXT.  His advice to Johnny Wrestling?  Don’t trust anyone.

Earlier Tonight:  Asuka and Ember Moon enter the building

Video:  Asuka Vs Ember Moon

Carmella and former NXT Champion Sasha Banks join the panel.  What was it like to see how NXT has progressed over the years?  Sasha Banks owes everything to NXT, she has learned everything and every success she has had, she owes it to NXT.  What is Ember Moon going through to try to dethrone Asuka?  Carmella said every woman wants to dethrone Asuka, so why not do it tonight?  Sasha is going with Asuka, and Carmella is going with Ember.  May Young Classic starts on August 28th, how did Lita feel about the event, since she is a part of the commentating team?  Lita said every woman will love this, the classic lived up to the name.

Backstage Interview:  Becky Lynch and Bayley

Renee has Becky and Bayley, it’s an honor to see the growth of NXT.  Bayley has had 3 physical therapies 3 times this week, she will get checked on in a month, and have more news about it after that.  Becky thinks Ember can win, and Bayley picks Asuka.

Video:  Bobby Roode Vs Drew McIntyre, for NXT World Championship

Baron Corbin joins the panel.  Charly reminds Baron he lost the briefcase match.  Baron talks about how amazing the first Takeover was, and so many legendary superstars wanted to see what NXT was up to, and now we see where it has evolved.  Baron stepped from the NFL to the ring.  Baron said while it’s true, but what HHH gave you is everything to succeed, and he took that chance, and it worked very well for him.  NXT is the testament to the fact Corbin tomorrow night has a big match against John Cena.  Corbin agrees with that, and he owes him a very big beating.  Who wins tonight’s NXT Title match?  Corbin goes with Roode.  Bobby has said this is his, and nobody has proven him wrong.

NXT Takeover:  Brooklyn III starts now.

NXT Takeover:  Brooklyn III

Saturday, August 19th, 2017

Commentators:  Mauro Ranallo, “Showtime” Percy Watson, and Nigel McGuiness

We begin the show with a live song, with Code Orange singing “Bleeding in the Blur”

Match Number 1:  Johnny Gargano Vs Andrade “Cien” Almas

What a great match to begin the show, Almas has improved since he tweaked his character, and now Selena Vega accompanies him.  Johnny had the Gargano Escape, but Almas found the ropes.  Johnny had things going his way, but Selena threw a DIY T-shirt, which allowed Gargano to be distracted, and Almas nails a dropkick and followed it by a rolling DDT, to pin Gargano.  The distraction allowed Almas to get the upset victory.

Winner:  Andrade “Cien” Almas, by pinfall

Some NXT wrestlers are entertaining both Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan in the sky box.

Video:  Drew McIntyre

Drew is preparing for his Title match tonight.

Match Number 2:  Authors of Pain (NXT Tag Champs) Vs SAnitY, for the NXT Tag Team Titles

Corey Graves is doing commentary for this match.  This was quite the fight here, we had Eric Young tag himself in, taking Killian Dane’s spot, we had Nikki Cross, Killian Dane, and Paul Elring go through a table.  We had outside action, inside action.  The end came when EY and Wolfe nail a Belly and Back Suplex, pinning Razar.  SAnitY are our new Tag Team Champions.

Winners, and NEW NXT Tag Team Champs:  SAnitY, by pinfall

Bobby Fish and Kyle O’ Reilly make their NXT debuts, going after all 5 men.  They are here to make an impact in NXT.

Match Number 3:  Hideo Itami Vs Alesiter Black

Jim Ross joins the commentary, and we had Code Orange perform Black’s theme song, and they performed live.  This was another good match, even better than I thought it would be.  Itami wants respect, and Black has a bit of a “darkside” to him.  Itami even mocked Black, and these two had some rough shots, with Black even bleeding on his nose.  Itami attempted a GTS, but Aleister Black got out of it, and nails a Black Mask for the win.

Winner:  Aleister Black, by pinfall

Match Number 4:  Asuka (NXT Women’s Champ) Vs Ember Moon, for the NXT Women’s Championship

Wow, another great match here.  Both women knew each other move for move, so they told a story here.  Ember was more fired up, she nailed an Eclipse, but Asuka kicks out.  Ember nails a wicked Superkick, Asuka kicks out.  Asuka tried to use the ref for leverage again, but Asuka rolls over Ember, holding the tights after a cross body, and the ref saw it.  Asuka attempted a Cross Arm Lock, but Ember gets out, Asuka then turns her attention to the Asuka Lock, and while Ember fought, she finally taps out.  The streak continues, at 541 undefeated days, and she keeps her Women’s Championship.

Winner, and STILL NXT Women’s Champion:  Asuka, by submission

Ember Moon received a standing ovation from the crowd, and rightfully so.

Kevin Owens is in the building, as is 3/4 of the Four Horsewomen (Sasha, Bayley, and Becky), and Samoa Joe.

Match Number 5:  Bobby Roode (NXT World Champ) Vs Drew McIntyre, for the NXT World Championship

Drew McIntyre in a grueling match nails a Claymore Kick, to become the new NXT World Champion.  I will admit the match wasn’t as good as they have had in the past, they worked a slow pace here, and the crowd seemed burnt out, but the ending was the best.  After Drew pins Roode, and celebrates with the title, there was a buzz in the crowd and you knew something was about to happen.  Reilly and Fish come out to the ring, and we see Adam Cole attack Drew from behind, and all 3 start to beat up Drew, and nails a kick to Drew’s head, picks up the NXT Title, and he tells Drew he is coming for him, and we end the show here.

Winner, and NEW NXT World Champion:  Drew McIntyre, by pinfall

Kevin’s Thoughts:

What a show this was tonight, they set the bar high for this weekend.  The Women’s Title match, and the Tag Team Title match were the two best matches on the card, but everything else just flowed, and we had an awesome ending, that felt like a new era was being born.  Right now, this doesn’t feel like an “invasion” so to speak, but it sure tells us Fish, Cole, and O’ Reilly are together, as a team.  And all 3 are gunning for gold.  I hope Summerslam is just as good, but with the current creative teams, I doubt it.  But prove me wrong guys.  What were your thoughts on the show?  Sound off, and let me know.
