Who wins tonight?  Cena or Rusev?

Carmella joins the panel.  She is paying attention to the 5-Way Woman’s Elimination Match.  She is the only 2-time Money in the Bank Winner, and she could be competing for the SD Live Woman’s Championship.  She is picking Natalya to win tonight.  She will do whatever it takes to win the match tonight.  Carmella went from Ms. Irrelevant being the last pick of the draft to the 2-time Money in the Bank Winner.  Carmella is going with Natalya to win.  Sam Roberts goes with Charlotte.  King goes with Natalya.

Video:  AJ Styles Vs Kevin Owens

Backstage Interview:  AJ Styles

Dasha is with the US Champ, he says this title represents the “workhorse” of the company, and that is what he is, until someone proves him wrong.  And Kevin Owens isn’t man enough to do it.

Backstage Interview:  Kevin Owens

That Mike dude interviews Owens, and Kevin refers to him as “Tom” which is still funny.  He doesn’t need to talk, he doesn’t need to say he is “The Face of America” because everyone knows that.  He doesn’t need to say this is The Kevin Owens Show, because everyone knows it.  He is going to take his United States Championship back, and prove he is man enough to do it.

Social Media Lounge:  The Kanellis’

Kayla is with Maria and Mike Kanellis.  When will we see Maria in the ring again?  Maria is in the ring, she is doing everything she can to take care of her man.  They are building the power of love.  What is Mike’s strategy against Sami tonight.  To do the same thing he did last Tuesday, punch Sami hard in the head again.  Maria has some love advice for someone, to wait for that one perfect person.  But since that there is one Mike Kanellis, that won’t happen for anyone else, and there is only one Maria Kanellis, there is only one power of love.

WWE Battleground Kick-Off Show Match Number 1:  “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger Vs Aidan English

Maybe this is a new Aidan English, he started to get emotional, but he stood firm, nailed a DDT, and rolled Dillinger for the win.  The crowd was dead silent though at the finish, I think in part because they are shocked their “Perfect 10” didn’t win the match.

Winner:  Aidan English, by pinfall

Earlier Today:  Jinder Mahal Arrives

The Indian announce team interviews Jinder, and he said something along the lines of I will retain my championship.  I need to brush up on my Indian language though.

Video:  Jinder Mahal Vs Randy Orton in a Punjabi Prison Match

This is just the 3rd Punjabi Prison Match in WWE history, for the first time in 10 years.  WWE Battleground begins now.

WWE Battleground Live From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Sunday, July 23rd, 2017

Commentators:  Tom Phillips, Byron Saxson, and JBL

Match Number 1:  The Usos (WWE SD Live Tag Champs) Vs The New Day for the WWE SD Live Tag Team Championships

What a match this was, The Usos took out Kofi early in the match, Xavier was able to shine here, the finish came when The Usos took just one second away from the action, missed a splash, Kofi makes the tag, nails Trouble in Paradise and Xavier nails his Elbow Drop for the win, and the NEW Tag team Champions.  Some near kickouts here, including The Usos kicking out on Midnight Hour, and that had the crowd going.

Winners, and NEW SD Live Tag Team Champions:  The New Day, by pinfall

Tonight:  AJ Styles Vs Kevin Owens

Match Number 2:  Baron Corbin Vs Shinsuke Nakamura

This was a very disappointing finish here, Nakamura controlled Corbin during the match, and Corbin felt desperation, so he faked a neck injury, Shinsuke picked him up, and Baron kicked Nakamura in the groin, for the DQ finish.  Funny part was the Philly crowd said he sucks, and Baron said he is doing well in the ring.  After the match, Corbin nails Shinsuke with his briefcase in the gut, then End of Days.

Winner:  Shinsuke Nakamura, by DQ

Match Number 3:  Becky Lynch Vs Tamina Vs Lana Vs Natalya Vs Charlotte Flair in a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match To Determine Number One Contender to SD Live Woman’s Title

Naomi comes out to watch this match.  Becky had Lana set up with Disarmer, but Tamina saved Lana, nailed a Samoan Drop.  Lana tried to pin Becky, but Becky reversed it, and nails a Disarmer.  Tamina saves her, but Becky fights back, and sets up the Disarmer, and made Tamina tap out.

Elimination Number 1:  Tamina, submitted by Becky

Lana fights Becky, but Lynch reverses, nails a Disarmer, making Lana tap out.

Elimination Number 2:  Lana, submitted by Becky

Natalya quickly rolls up Becky from behind, and grabs the outfit.

Elimination Number 3:  Becky Lynch, pinned by Natalya

Final Two:  Charlotte Flair and Natalya

Charlotte uses her brute strength on Natalya, but Nattie shoves Charlotte into the turnbuckle, and pins Charlotte to become the new Number One Contender.

Winner, and Number One Contender to WWE SD Live Woman’s Championship:  Natalya, by pinfall

Naomi tries to shake Natalya’s hand, but the Canadian walks away.

Match Number 4:  AJ Styles (WWE US Champ) Vs Kevin Owens, for the United States Championship

Well, they started the match a bit slow here, the fans really couldn’t pick up on it, and then they did a ridiculous thing….Kevin Owens defeated AJ Styles to win back the United States Championship, when Owens picks AJ up for a back suplex, and AJ had both shoulders down, when Owens lifted his shoulder, and that is how they end the match.  Very disappointing, but the winner, and “The New Face of America”, Kevin Owens.

Winner, and NEW United States Champion:  Kevin Owens, by pinfall

Backstage Segment:  Jinder Mahal

Jinder is working out, when The Singh Brothers tell him they can’t accompany him to the ring tonight because of the Punjabi structure.  Jinder has this, he will end Randy Orton’s legacy all by himself.

Match Number 5:  John Cena Vs “Handsome” Rusev, in a Flag Match

This was a good match here, Cena had Rusev tap out to the STF, but this was not a submission match.  You had to grab the flag, then carry it out to the beginning of the ramp, where 2 podiums were standing.  The winner gets to put their flag on the podium.  So we went back and forth earlier in this match, and Rusev had set up 2 tables.  So just when Rusev hit the Accolade, and grabbed his flag, Cena was there to meet him, nailed the AA, by putting him through both tables, grabbed his flag, and won.

Winner:  John Cena

August 20th- WWE Summerslam 2017

Video:  The Fashion Files

We find out who attacked The Fashion Police’s office, or did we?  It’s not The Ascension, because they were at Eddie Money’s concert, “Two Tickets To Paradise”.  But a team attacked them both, with the lights being out, and someone dragged Fandango from the camera view.  To Be Continued.  Philly fans were disappointed, and so was I.  We need to know dammit.

Match Number 6:  Mike Kanellis Vs Sami Zayn

Sami once again set up Mike for an Exploder on the turnbuckle, and Maria came into the ring to distract Sami for a bit, but this time Sami counters Mike, and gives him an Exploder, then Helluva Kick to win the match.

Winner:  Sami Zayn, by pinfall

Match Number 7:  Jinder Mahal (WWE Champ) Vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship in a Punjabi Prison Match

Well, they had the match.  That is all I can say about it, actually The Singh Brothers appeared out of nowhere from underneath the ring, so Randy was fighting three different men.  One of the Singh Brothers went through a table, after Randy threw him, and crashed on the table.  Randy has things under control, about to climb up the second platform, but The Great Khali shows up.  He marches to the ring, and grabs Randy by the throat, keeps him there so Jinder can climb over the platform, and retain his championship.  The show ends with the champion showing off his new ally.

Winner, and STILL WWE Champion:  Jinder Mahal

Kevin’s Thoughts:

This just wasn’t a good show, I tried to like it.  But the decision on who went over was baffling.  Jinder winning, it didn’t bother me.  But why have the US Championship change hands, make a big deal of it, only to lose it back after just 3 weeks?  What about Natalya?  She hasn’t won too many matches lately, Charlotte Flair had a great match against Naomi about 5 weeks ago, left things go, and we still haven’t seen a rematch?  What about Breezango?  The tease that everything will be revealed, only to not have it happen?  I guess WWE just wanted to make Summerslam bigger, but why even have this PPV tonight then?  I do however want to see what happens with The Great Khali.  Does that make it wrong?  Let me know what you thought about this show.  It just felt a bit short-changed here.
