Wrestlemania Weekend has officially begun, with the big show 2 days away. No matter how we look at the build up to these matches, the men and women will work hard to put on an incredible event. This is my official preview to “The Ultimate Thrill Ride”, (I am paid to type “the Ultimate Thrill Ride” out every 20 words, am I doing well?) Here are my thoughts, see if you agree?
WWE Universal Championship Match: Goldberg (C) Vs Brock Lesnar
Paul Heyman had stated Goldberg is the one guy Brock just can’t beat, it’s like he is in his head now. The two-faced off at Survivor Series, with the tag line “Fantasy Warfare Becomes Real”, and Goldberg pinned Brock in 1:32 minutes. Such a shocking way to lose. But then Goldberg eliminated Brock at Royal Rumble. But Brock made the challenge, Goldberg accepted, then won the WWE Universal Title, and now everything is on the line. Who wins? I am going with this finally being a 10 minute fight. Not a match, but a fight. This is the main event of the biggest PPV, it can’t end in a minute, right?
Winner: Brock Lesnar
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Bray Wyatt (C) Vs Randy Orton
Orton couldn’t beat Bray, so he decided to join them, but really, that saying keep your friends close, but your enemies closer fits the bill. Randy won the Royal Rumble, Bray won the WWE World Title at Elimination Chamber, and “The Viper” struck, setting the Wyatt Compound on fire. So who wins this?
Winner: Randy Orton
The Undertaker Vs Roman Reigns
Whose yard is it? The Undertaker at 23-1 at Wrestlemania knows what it’s going to take to win on the biggest stage of them all. “The Big Dog” has been on fire the last two years, this could be his biggest match of his career. This match started at Royal Rumble, when Reigns eliminated Taker. Reigns has threatened to retire Taker, but “The Deadman” keep trying to play mind games, which hasn’t really worked, so who wins?
Winner: The Undertaker
AJ Styles Vs Shane McMahon
AJ has been on a roll the last year, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Backlash, back in September. But he lost the title to John Cena, at Royal Rumble. AJ hasn’t exactly received his one-on-one rematch for the title. He took it out on Shane a few weeks ago, and now AJ has a Wrestlemania match. Does Styles take Shane lightly, and McMahon pull off an upset? Or does the “Phenomenal” athlete from Gainesville, Georgia find a way to show the world just how great he is? Shane won’t have any table spots, this is a one-on-one wrestling match. Who wins?
Winner: AJ Styles
Seth Rollins Vs HHH
This is an unsanctioned fight, and if Rollins gets hurt, he can’t sue WWE, HHH, or his family. These two had a feud that was 9 months in the making, when HHH turned on Seth for being too “soft”, and caring what the fans believe in him. There have been complications in the way, namely “The Destroyer” Samoa Joe taking out Seth’s knee so bad that a doctor hasn’t even medically cleared him. There is a ton of risk, but Seth has a chance to prove he is just as good without HHH’s guidance, and maybe even better?
Winner: Seth Rollins
Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match for WWE Raw Woman’s Title: Bayley (C) Vs Charlotte Flair Vs Sasha Banks Vs Nia Jax
Last year, a woman’s revolution was complete with a crowning of a new Woman’s Champion, not Diva’s Champion, but Woman’s Champion. Now, one year later, the champion must prove she belongs in the same ring with 2 of the best in-ring performers, and a dominant beast. How can Bayley survive? is Sasha using her to get the title? Can Charlotte redeem herself after her first PPV loss? Can Nia Jax show she is the most dominant woman in Sports Entertainment?
Winner: Charlotte Flair
John Cena and Nikki Bella Vs The Miz and Maryse
Who are the Hollywood “It” couple? These four have battled verbally for the last 6 weeks, even with a parody of “Total Bellas”, and now we get the most absolutely wasted addition of Al Roker serving as Ring Announcer, like that makes a difference. Then again….
Winner: John Cena and Nikki Bella
Intercontinental Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (C) Vs Baron Corbin
This is Baron’s first big shot at winning gold, while the veteran “Lunatic Fringe” is no stranger to Wrestlemania. The truth though is Baron has everything to lose in this match, but also something important to gain….WWE gold.
Winner: Baron Corbin
United States Title Match: Chris Jericho (C) Vs Kevin Owens
This will steal the show, “The Festival of Friendship” is done, and now a friendship is broken. If these two have enough time, this can easily be the best match on the card. Who wins this one?
Winner: Kevin Owens
WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match in a Ladder Match: Gallows and Anderson (C) Vs Enzo and Cass Vs Cesaro and Sheamus
Cesaro and Sheamus are the team who beat New Day, and ended their record-breaking reign as Tag Team Champions. But Gallows and Anderson beat them a month later. We add Enzo and Cass to the mix, and a ladder. Anything can happen.
Winners: Enzo and Cass
WWE SD Live Woman’s Title Match: (WM Kick-off Show) Alexa Bliss (C) Vs The Field
This is a similar deal AJ Lee had a few years ago, when she faced off against the field. Daniel Bryan wants Alexa to prove she is the best woman’s performer, and with a win here, she can pull it off. But she is facing a returning Mickie James, Naomi, Natalya, Carmella, and so many more. Will Ellsworth get involved?
Winner: The Field (Naomi)
WWE Cruiserweight Title Match (WM Kick-off): Neville (C) Vs Austin Aries
Neville calls himself “The King of the Cruiserweights”, and with this win, he can call himself that. Austin Aries is his toughest match, to date. But Neville can prove it, question is though, will he?
Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal (WM Kick-Off Match):
The rest of the roster has something to do here. Cesaro was the first winner, followed by Big Show. But it wasn’t until last year, when Baron Corbin won that they did anything with that title. Can history strike twice? They need to, or else they might as well strike it.
Winner: Braun Strowman
There you have it, my choices for the biggest event. 10 matches on the main card, and 3 matches for the Kick-off show. Kick-off show begins at 5:00 eastern, with the PPV setting a special time of 7:00 eastern time. The PPV probably will last 4 and 1/2 hours. Keep it locked here, and we will take a look and see how I did with the picks. Send me your picks.
